I feel bad for those children :gloomy: , I am not sure.. but I doubt sitting there to memorise is what every kid wants to do.. so somehow this could be either parent or teacher....

From the conversation, both sets of kids don't want to memorise. But the parents were trying to convince them this is the way to go and that there is no shortcut. sigh. Then later complain why our kids cannot think, no creativity, no originalitiy...etc......

not sure why, but parents are so results oriented that they disregard what path is being used to get to the end. The main thing is what's the results (must be great results, nothing less). The PSLE is picked on and blame it for the pursue of good results to get into a good school..
The standard of the education is also blamed on without thinking the global world has changed that the pace does needs to be risen.
I do sometimes wonder, Take the parent quotation out and obsession of results, the children are given the choice to pick what they want to be nurtured on, if they are weak ->given motivational workshops, can't think logically->given logic thinking workshops with games.. enhance the mind. Wonder how it would be like. -
