Do you think tuition centre or home tuition is better? My children always have home tuition.

Any parents have feedback on Smart Science Lab at United Square? Are teachers and materials good and well organised? Thinking of signing up my DD for Sept Science Holiday Programme. TIA!

I think Smart Science Lab has another branch at bishan. My friend who has her kids there say it is not bad. They do experiments but not sure how effective as she did not mention anything about results just that her kids enjoyed themselves there.

My eldest son was with Science Buddies for their P6 Science lessons. He was there for the last few months before PSLE. That was 3 years ago. He told me the questions there were not exactly that challenging for him.

Now my second one is going to be P5 next year, gearing him to the PSLE mode. I am also looking around for some quality programme for him.

Just read the thread below about their ScienceQuest programme. They also incorporate Concept Map to their programme. They have put up a student concept map in the thread. I found it rather impressive. Perhaps worth exploring.

I find concept maps are overated. The problems that children faces these days are not memory related problems or even concept issues, rather, they are unable to think logically and to infer answers. Primary school science concepts are not that difficult to understand.
What children lack is the ability to infer the answers and to link concepts to unfamiliar questions. For OE questions, they can't provide a structured answered in a manner that is logical and with relevance to the question. Concept maps will not resolve these issues.
