Imho, the PAP and PA don't need to resort to such behind-the-scenes action. It will divide our country further, because they've just proven the swing voters right that the ruling party is high-handed. šŸ˜“

Furthermore, it's the wrong political tactic? I don't think banning CSM from attending a 7th month dinner is going to lose him any supporters. I'd rather the ruling party focus on addressing the issues raised at the last GE.

there appeared that someone is 'greying' the matter such that grassroots are no longer able to handle the matter appropriately.

If your MP is invited for the 7th Month dinner, I'm sure he is there for a social reason, unless he decides to make some political speech etc. The same goes to any politician who attend anything even pertaining to his religion or faith, will the temple, church or mosque be accused of having a political agenda?
            :?

If residents are well informed, that is okay. However, to many who does not access internet, the lack of presence may be deemed as lack of interest, and may cause them to lose support.

The MIW and their supporters always likes to use those phase, even in KSP forums, \"where are the Opp candidates b4 the elections\"? They always \"spring up\" just before the election etc etc.. While we all know too well that it is not the candidates not walking the ground, but bcoz they are denied to do so..

In any case, the residents/voters has a right to know the truth..

Hence, I fully support CSM's act in voicing out on his FB the incidents that happened..

So far, WP has been very disciplined.. My impression is they don't go around making political speeches unless it is a political driven event (i.e. rallies etc..)

Take for example, the \"appreciation lunch\" after the GE to thank volunteers. Even at such a closed door event, they explicitly state that the lunch is solely to thank volunteers and for them to enjoy, not to promote their party whatsoever.. Hence, there will be no political speeches.. just thank you speeches in appreciate of the support.

we are no longer allowed to invite MPs as Guest-of-Honour for school functions anymore.
