For SST, they teach more advance than other ''o'' level school and other IP schools. For example Hwa Chong and RI.
Really?!
Then it must be really stressful there. :scared:
Wow. If more difficult than RI and hci. I am sure it should be the most difficult to get in? Any idea if the cut off is higher than 260 for psle?
From what I understand it is geared more towards polytechnics. So a lot of hands on.
Ask your children, What kind of school they really want? Not follow our opinion to choose school, it will be suffer for them. :hi5: -
McLaren, are you a current student at SST or a parent of an SST student?
-
No, SST is my son’s dream school. Hopefully his dream will be come true one day. And before that I really have a many questions about this school but after Parents Seminar and Open House, no doubt it really very suitable for his learning style and his interest. For me, his opinions is more important.

any DSA news from SST??? Anybody received call from SST yet?
-
McLaren:
For SST. they 're just received students 100% by DSA only. About the COP, about 245 plus. And NUS High School 90% DSA and 10% post PSLE. COP for 10% students must be higher than other schools like RI and Hwa Chong. Last year COP for this 10% of 200 students : 264 unbelieveable.
I hope McLaren you better get your facts correct rather than just trying to confuse people who are genuinely using this forum for getting information. My neighbour son is the first batch who get in through DSA and only get 230. There is no point of comparing to other schools like RI and HCI as SST is clearly a specialised school, who does O level, while RI and HCI does A level. It is also a well known facts that NUS High give a diploma but SST give O level. There is no better school than other. Everyone using this forum to get the best and correct information about the schools. I hope you give a valuable and accurate information rather than trying to compare to other schools. :stompfeet: -
No news from SST on DSA. No call, no email, nothing so far…

Hi Pooh Bear and success100,
According to SST, results will be released end Aug / early Sept via snail mail. -
pardon me if i’m wrong in my impression … SST remind me of the olden days in the past where kids at VITB (Vocational Institute of Technology Board) are very good at working with their hands, study.
after VITB apprenticeship, many go polytechnic route, eventually ending up in overseas university or local NTU. -
in those days at VITB, many of them are bright talents using their hands. In fact, their talent lie in their hands.
after going thru poly route training and uni, some have become very successful businessmen or technopreneurs. -

probably makes more sense if u were to post in the SST thread so that parents of current students can address your concerns more aptly.pardon me if i'm wrong in my impression ...
