        McLaren:

For SST. they 're just received students 100% by DSA only. About the COP, about 245 plus. And NUS High School 90% DSA and 10% post PSLE. COP for 10% students must be higher than other schools like RI and Hwa Chong. Last year COP for this 10% of 200 students : 264 unbelieveable.

I hope McLaren you better get your facts correct rather than just trying to confuse people who are genuinely using this forum for getting information. My neighbour son is the first batch who get in through DSA and only get 230. There is no point of comparing to other schools like RI and HCI as SST is clearly a specialised school, who does O level, while RI and HCI does A level. It is also a well known facts that NUS High give a diploma but SST give O level. There is no better school than other. Everyone using this forum to get the best and correct information about the schools. I hope you give a valuable and accurate information rather than trying to compare to other schools. :stompfeet:

I think McLaren meant to say the SST PSLE mean score is about 245. Since SST only accepts through DSA, there is no COP. The rest of information is refering to NUSH.

pardon me if i'm wrong in my impression ... SST remind me of the olden days in the past where kids at VITB (Vocational Institute of Technology Board) are very good at working with their hands, study.

after VITB apprenticeship, many go polytechnic route, eventually ending up in overseas university or local NTU.

probably makes more sense if u were to post in the SST thread so that parents of current students can address your concerns more aptly.

But SST doesn't only accept via DSA.

I thought it did. I know in the first year (2009) admission was only by DSA. Don't know about last year.

In that year, there was also a 2nd admission and Open House AFTER the release of PSLE results. I think the practise still stays. I doubt the school (SST) is able to fill all it's vacancies via DSA. As in, probably many students want to apply but SST may not find all suitable during DSA.

They were told admission via DSA only. She lost interest and eventually chose not to go SST so maybe that's why she didn't keep up to date on the second admission.

If made you felt uneasy and here accept my apology. No other motives included. 😄
