      ksi:

Not that true in some schools because with the vacancies they will be able to transfer in some cream of the crop from other schools who have been waiting to enter the school. We have some of these cases where the top students in other schools transfer in and they outshine some of the top class students....that is reality.
my (joking) words to my boy is basing on the fact that his is a neighbourhood school. i do believe that with the vacancies, the 'cream of the crop' from other countries waiting to enter any school in singapore, are the ones who will likely outshine some of their school's top students (as far as i know of already, a few of the school's PSLE top students are not local - based on the sound of their names).

yes. that is reality. i'll let him know when the time comes la.

those who topped their classes in P1&2 have to accept the fact that they may no longer top P3 onwards.

        Why le :scratchhead:

        alamak.
there are 7 classes of P2. and only 1 'top' P3 class after streaming. there will bound to be some top P2 students who could not get top3 position in the P3 class after streaming. you get what i mean?

So top students remain on top regardless of which class they're in.

Thks mommyNg for sharing. I like this chinese phase. Very good reminder for all of us... and not to be too hard on our kid...

My DS2 took the screening test yesterday, plus the CA test in afternoon, close to like 5 hrs doing test papers in 1 day... Come to think of it, this is crazy to subject a P3 kid thru... Like others, our instruction to DS2 was take morning screening test as practice, and not take it too hard. :xedfingers:

I just wish to find out. For a child who is in GEP and later select a GEP secondary school, does the kid enjoy affiliation type scheme whereby the child does not need to obtain the same level of score as a mainstream child to get into the sec school. If yes, does it only apply to GEP sec schools or all sec schools? TIA
