Shilin night market is NOT recommended for families with young children on Fridays and Saturdays. Super Super Packed. I do not know how’s the crowd situation on other days of the week.

Thanks for the recommendations but we are heading from HK to Taiwan.

野柳 (This one go there just see stones & a Ocean Park?) Maybe would give it a miss since we would be visiting Ocean Park in HK.

九份 (This one seem interesting but wonder the children would be bored yeah)

金瓜石/基隆庙口 (Is this a Night Market)

So how muchy it cost to book a taxi to visit this 4 places?野柳/九份/金瓜石/基隆庙口

淡水 + 地熱谷 (This 2 places also have to go by taxi, no nearby MRT?)

        鶯歌老街 (pottery town)

        Taipei Zoo/Maokong Gondola

忠烈祠 (This one I would miss, like go history tour)

        乌来 (hotsprings)[/quote]

野柳 yes see stone like those in Australia. Nice sea view. Ocean Park no stone to see. Ocean Park is theme park, aquarium and see panda.

九份 - there is a shop selling traditional toys near the entrance. And lots of things to eat to keep them happy.

野柳 - some rock formation along coastal area.

九份 - depends on your children. But I think it will be a good experience for mine.
            金瓜石 - scenic area
基隆庙口 - they do have a night market

Basically if you book a driver, they very much cover the same route. Price range from NT3000-NT5000 for day trip.

淡水 + 地熱谷 - Danshui Mrt and Xin Beitou Mrt
忠烈祠 - this is to see the change of guards ceremony

Will weekdays ie Sun - Thu be less crowded? I heard it's crowded anywhere, every time. :yikes:

Hi, just want to add…this year we went to taipei & do take time to go to Babyboss themepark !!! your kids will love it…it’s almost the same like the Korea themepark which was featured in news last night…lots of mini jobs (pilots/doctors/firemen etc) for them to do & earn ‘salary’ & exchange for rewards. u might want to google it for the exact address ( i cant recall. but took a free shuttle bus from Shilin station ?)& try to go on weekdays (less crowds) & bring along the camera to take their different outfits at work

How is Baby Boss different from other themeparks like Disneyland in HK?
