[Jurong West] Primary Schools
-
Hi
I was reading the Singapore P1 Registration School Balloting History page (http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/jurong-west). Would appreciate some advise on how do I intrepret the result. Mainly the App and Tur columns.
Confuse with these 2 columns. Take Pioneer Pri School for example, there are 132% App and 100% Tur, so it means there are 132applications for Phase 2C Supp and 100% applied?
Also, does Phase 2C supp means the extra places left over after all the other Phases (2A-2C)?
Thanks -

The TUR refers to the cumulative take up rate at the end of that specific Phase. Naturally, the TUR should never exceed 100% except in VERY RARE cases involving twins/triplets....Confuse with these 2 columns. The APP refers to the number of applicants vying for places available for a given Phase. It can exceed 100% in which case either cut-off or balloting rules apply. -

My girl is born in year 2004 and we have to register P1 by next year.
We are battling between Jurong Primary School(locate at Jurong East) or Shuqun Primary School since we are residing at Jurong West Ave St 41.
Is anyone can advise which is a better choice? Any opinions?
P/S: We are no consider Rulang due to the large number of applicants. -

Hi swallow!
You may like to list down the factors that are important to you in deciding which school is better, because one man's pill may be another's poison. In addition, visit the schools' websites for more information. Make a trip down to the schools and have a feel for yourself which school you are more comfortable with. Of course, together with the comments posted by fellow forummers here, you should be able to decide for your child which is a better choice. -

My older boy just got into West Grove. personally when I notice the kids from Pioneer, they seem to be more " naughty type" compared to the kids of West Grove.
my younger one born in 2005 and I think I want to PV for Rulang, BTW, is Rulang within 2 km from Floravale ?
