      ChiefKiasu:

We lost our 4yo son at Incheon airport in South Korea for about 10mins, just as we were trying to check in our luggage to fly home. It felt more like 10 hours to me.
Like panic stricken, runing around with half your mind jumbled up !

We also lost our son ( when he was 4 ) inside Frankfurt airport, after clearing immigrations at the duty-free shopping area. Wifey was engrossed, and he disappeared. When I cam back from the restroom, and we realised he was gone, you can see 2 chinese people running around the airport frantically like crazies !

After 20mins searching the whole stretch to and fro, I decided to go up the escalator to the other hall, and there he was happily playing and pulling the unpaid kiddy trolley bag which he had taken from one of the shops below ! :stupid: :stupid:

Was very relieved, and didn't know whether to be angry at him or not. Imagine, even pulling the trolley bag up an escalator. The consolation was, he was still happily playing ( instead of being fearful and worried ).

We returned the trolley back of course...

An half hour which wiped out 3 years of my life ! šŸ˜‰

Oh my! When I last travelled overseas I had my youngest on a backpack leash. It looked pretty cute actually and the Europeans were all giving him big grins šŸ˜‚

My older son had a habit of getting lost and when my daughter was young, she would also wander off. I think between the 2 of them, they have gotten lost about 5 times. So I bought the backpack leash for my daughter but when I brought her out, all the aunties would point and some even said I was very cruel to do so. I kept doing so anyway as my children had the habit of wandering off until one day when an older lady kept following us and scolding me for doing so. Anyway, now kids are older, would not wander off but I have lots of white hair due to fear of losing them. Now with youngest, I must make sure I train him super well so he would not wander off.

Anyway leashing up a child with a baby leash made for babies/toddlers is not a bad thing as these are baby products made for child's safety and I hope people can mind their own business. If one uses an animal leash, then it is something else.

Sometimes I wonder how did a mummy like me who was so scaredy cat
raise 2 kids who are so bold (or bochap) and who get into trouble in a blink of an eye?!

Think the worst is to lose your kids at the airport in a foreign country, like what chief had experienced. Reminds me of my dream of running with my kids in a chaos, only to realize later that I wasn't holding on to my own kids!! Xiao liao!

i almost lost my DD once, or so i thought. It was in 2009, 1 day before cny eve. My neighbourhood here had a pasar malam and it was very very crowded.

DD was with my uncle but she was walking in front. My uncle thinking he can keep up with her, did not think of holding her hands. Within secs, he lost her. I was with DH & my mil, walking a distance behind.

My uncle came up to us & told us he lost DD. We panicked! I was very scared; didnt know where to start seraching. We separated ourselves, searching in all directions. :scared:

Finally, we found her in the arms of my sil. My sil told us she heard my DD calling out to her. She was wondering hw come DD was alone but she thought my uncle may hv saw DD running towards her. But my uncle did not. My sil was js in front of my uncle. Both of them missed each other.

At that time, wild thoughts were running thru my mind. I can still recall it very well though its been 2 years. šŸ˜“

That is the worst nightmare of a parent. To lose your kid in a foreign country
and some of those countries have a lot of child predators. Makes me :yikes:
                      when I think about it.

I think if we lose our kids before, sure have nightmares one. :nailbite:

and my child wondered off, would I blame them even though I myself
have lost my kids before? In my sane moments, I think I will say I will not but
in that moment and if kids remain lost, I don't know what I will do.
