morning all… quickly report here my DS progress… heee… new development… he is able to say 1,2,3,5,6,8,9,10… how’s that ? im so darn impressed… ok he missed out few numbers in between… it’s sososo ok… haaaa… i thk this little chap is going to be good , at least at numbers? heee… share my happiness…

yes.. am proud mummy here.. u know each time we take lift i will count down/up the numbers with him..and one fine day.. i say.. \"1\".. he say \"2, 3,\" then i say \"4\" he say \"5\" \"6\" i say \"7\" he continue on to 10.. amazing isn't it ?

i started doing the lift number counting thingy with him for some weeks.. randomly .. cos not always free to remember to count .. glad he picks up !

and name of fruits also he can remember quite a number.. as i always ask him the name of the toy fruits we play chopping with.. he can say \"melon\" for watermelon, \"bana\" for banana..\"berry\" fro strawberry, \"apple\", \"orange\", \"ssimon\" for pessimon, \"mon\" for lemon\", \"grapes\"..\"kiwi\", \"pear\".. great achievement.. making me wanna buy for toy fruits for him haaa..

yes kabby… i thk he is now at the stage he picks up fast for speech/language… he imitates us in whatever language we speak… hokkien/english/mandarin… sometimes maid in indon also he imitate…

btw both my ds and dd are really different. i am enjoying the differences. the boys were tougher to handle when they were very young cos they were so active. they were more rash too, and often sustained injuries at home or the playground due to their daring stunts. they are also more vocal and loud.


between ds1 and ds2 there are differences too, but in general the above holds true.

as for dd now. she is quieter. she is calmer too, less screaming, less vocal. she is cautious. eg, she will slow down when she sees a step (and she will see the step, unlike ds1, who sometimes don't see the steps and just bulldoze through only to fall down), and then gingerly dangles her foot downwards, testing testing to see if the step down is a long distance away or is it just a small step.

very funny to see her doing all these testing.

then finally she will place her foot down on the step below.

she doesn't fall off the bed too, because she is more aware of the sides and edge of the bed.

on the other hand, because of her cautiousness, some gross motor skills would be slightly lagging behind her brothers (at the same stage).

i enjoy bringing her out with friends cos she is more social than her brothers too. can sit and look at us chat for a long time without being bored. my boys used to fidget within 5min and cry to be let out of the highchair or stroller. they hate shopping too.

however, this also translates into her being less vocal. eg. i also do the lift floor counting. almost daily if there aren't others in the lift. but for her, she likes to just smile when i point and count. and she will do the 1,2,3 with her fingers but not say anything.

the way she tries hard for the 2 and 3 is really hilarious. 1 is not a problem, it's easy. but the 2 and 3, she takes a long time to hold up those fingers and keep the rest down. very funny.
