hi, I would like to know how does the school knows if the address is within 1 km. Do they hv a map on hand to cross check or are they like everyone else just key into a website and check every case that is not so obvious? Am just curious to know, because I am very likely to have to shift within one km of a school.

It is good that the authority uses one standard measurement ie. one map. It is very clear cut and minimise disputes.

In earlier days, schools would have a map of the vicinity posted on their walls during P1 Registration, with 1km and 2km radii marked out.

I used the onemap provided by MOE and realise that the distance from my home to the school is 2.04km… In this instance, will it be classify as within 2km since its a mere 0.04km?
