I don't understand why NJC has done away with WL. It is such a let down and disappointment for the other kids who went thru the whole dsa process. What makes NJC such an exception that they have done away with WL?
The least they could do was to post the rejection letters together with the co since they were quite close to the deadline. Thought moe website stipulate that all applicants will be informed of the outcome by 3 sept. Quite unprofessional of them. It could had spared us the agony of still pinning for some hope over the last weekend! Really unhappy with them.
During the tour of the sch, the dean said that if the applicants for their dsa doesn't meet the requirement , they may not even fill up half of their quotas for enrollment but will keep these vacancies for the sec 1 posting exercise. Looks like they are really strict about the quality of students that they pick ! :spank: -
I am sure many parents are still fuming over this. What a bad aftertaste.
Anyway it is NJC’s LOSS!
My advise is when your kids do well for PSLE choose the top schools instead. -

Seems strange that nobody in this KS forum got CO from NJC .... How come huh
Tmr I will give a call n check why the school did not post out the letters at a go! Apart from that, it is 'legal' for them to do away with WL? Any comments? Would like to find out more b4 I query the school

So far only 1 ks member posted here that the DS got CO from NJC.
Looks like the rest all never receive anything ie waiting for rejection letters now. -

Waitlists are given at their own discretion.

Yes I really will like to know whether is it "legal" for them to do away with WL? Plain inefficiency. Does that mean we have to call MOE?
I was joking with a parent that when the kids go to NJC and are not able to meet their deadlines. They can always say it’s okay - neither did NJC! LOL! -

Would like to find out more b4 I query the school[/quote]There is no rules to say IP school has to issue WL - it is solely up to the school. If the school feels that they have many worthy DSA applicants and want to offer WL to those as there may be rejections from COs issued, they can offer WL. Else they can pass the vacancies to PSLE posting later.
I think NJC in \"delaying\" their selection camp has already \"eliminated\" a group of applicants who have received COs from their preferred schools. As such, they can be sure those they provided COs are sincere in wanting to get into their school (of course, there are also some who has received WL from other school, and hoping to get a CO at hand amongst these). By not providing waitlist, they will just have more vacancies for S1 posting based on results, and that may be good for the standard of the school. Each school wants to attract the best and maintain their standard, so they will act in whichever way they think is appropriate for the benefit of the school. I really do not think it is \"inappropriate\" for a school not to issue WL - I believe there are sch that does not issue WL (eg. does anyone know if VS has a WL? I've not heard of a WL offer from VS yet!) -
My son has received a CO from NJC last Fri. The wait was definitely agonizing. The letter says that they have adopted a very stringent selection criteria. I understand from the school that all successful candidates would have received the COs by last Sat. Apparrently the delay for releasing the results was due to the fact that all the papers were sent to Australia for marking. Agree that they should have sent out all sucessful and rejection letters at the same time.
