Club SAHM

Hi Susan yap
Can I check with you how you manage without any help? Especially the logistics part. When you need to run an errand, you bring all the kids or do u have someone at home? Or if say u need to pick one kid fr school etc, u bring the other kids along. what about if you have a function t o attend but kids are not allowed? I also read some of these Christian books but I find that it does not offer me much advice on the practical aspects of daily living. Homeschooling is out for me as I do not have the discipline and patience. Praying for strength etc , yes we do that too but practically speaking we still find it hard to cope with practical issues such as cooking, cleaning, spending quality time with dh and kids ,school work, sports etc etc. -
Oooh, didn’t know there is a SAHM club here. I want to join! I just turned SAHM last month. 2 kids, 8 & 21mths.

Welcome to the Club, Canvas. We are all here to share our experiences, our grievances, joy, frustrations, whatever....:)

Thanks Angelight!
Well for a start, how do you ladies get past "the look" by some relatives? I feel that somehow a few people think I should be working instead…
This is not the first time I became a SAHM, I was one 8-9years ago until DS started nursery and "the look" I got that time was sometimes really in-the-face but then I had no choice as I could not get a job after the 911 (long story). But this time, I quitted my otherwise well-paying job instead. -

Both of sils are SAHMs, plus my DH’s aunt is also SAHM so there’s no "look".

[quote=\"yap_susan\"]Have you mothers heard about the power of motherhood discussion book? It is a Christian series that teaches a woman how to juggle between being a wife, mother and homemaking. I have benefitted greatly from this series.
Hi SusanYap,

I didn't get the look but mil did say it's a waste for me to quit since I studied so much. Well just told her I want to coach my kids especially DS who's going to be p1 next year. I find it's the older folks who tend to have such thinking. Maybe becos they didn't have the oppty to work. My friends are mostly envious that I can spend more time with kids.
