I think it is ok to fly to Japan now. Be comfortable. Just think about USA trip and enjoy your trip with your family. USA is amazing country and there are bulk of places to travel in USA. So, enjoy your trip.

Good evening all KSP users, need advises for my December trip to USA.
Cause I am travelling with my 2 Girls, 17 & 12 ....My first oversea trip without my late husband....(so kind of scary....) :scared:
Most vacations are always planned by me...but this time without Spouse...
like one piece of missing jig saw puzzle to make the whole picture perfect.
Back to the USA free and Easy trip....
Choose to enter USA through San Francisco....after reading how bad Los Angeles Airport is....long queues....crowded airport ....rowdy Immigration Officers...who will make you feel like you are unwelcome to the country....
Is SFO Airport also so unfriendly...what must I be careful?
The immigration Officer after inspecting our passport...will he endorsed a stamp on the passport? What forms must we fill upon arrival?
I am also taking a domestic flight from SFO to Orlando ...
Anybody know SFO to Orlando is it a International Flight or Domestic Flight?
Orlando Airport is it also so bad as LAX airport?
Anybody tried taking the Amtrak train from LA to SFO...is it enjoyable?
What about the Local tours there , heard it is always flooded with China tourists who tend to be very inconsiderate (loud and rude....) so the whole trip can be spolit by them.... :skeptical:
It is more than 10 years since I visited USA...so now revisiting it...
Thanks in Advance for reading and advise given :xedfingers: -
I only know a answer
SF to OL is domestic. But if you book SG to OL transit SF, then you are considered international throughout, just that you are having a stopover at SF while transiting. -
LAX is undergoing major upgrading and expansion. quite messy. was there a few weeks ago
SFO is relatively newer and more pleasant and more spacious.
If going to Orlando via SFO, immigration clearance is done at SFO, that is, the first landing point in US. Must get the luggage and redeposit it for the domestic flight
Immigration at SFO is in my experience much more friendly. I usually request all immigration officers (any country, I mean) to stamp my passport at a specific page and location, because I travel a lot and easier for me to keep track if the stamps are in sequence. Only the LAX one gave me a black face and PURPOSELY stamp some where else and gave a retort : \"I stamp where I like it\" and threw my passport at me. :stompfeet:
SFO to MCO (Orlando) is domestic. If your intention is to visit both places, then when you do ticket booking, indicate multi-city booking, and treat SFO as a stop, and SFO - MCO will be on a different date. On return if you don't want to stay over in SFO, just indicate MCO - SIN, and the stop over could be some other city than SFO. By booking all the way to MCO, you save more compared with booking SIN-SFO r/t, then another set of tickets SFO-MCO r/t. You can simulate the booking on the airline website and see the fare differentials -

hi vk2010 & vlim, glad to meet you guys here (besides at PSLE & DSA threads)! hubby is planning a l-o-n-g trip to USA after DS1's PSLE. hubby studied and stayed in the US for quite a number of years so this trip is basically to visit old friends in US and also to reward DS1 for his hard work.Didn't u telllax immigration officer your nick name.... Americans from LA and NY are pretty unfriendly.
And guess who told me that?
Americans themselves.
The immigration officers from these areas are even worse. Really act like KINGS.
I also had first hand experience dealing with some of them. Donβt appreciate their attitude at all. -
LAX is messy but Orlando Airport is very pretty esp end of the year with the Christmas Light up. There is a Hyatt at the Airport.
