My dd enjoy the camp but according to her --- the pail of soapy water to wash their utensils is extremely dirty and oily before they can rinse it under tap water. Guess what she used the wet tissue to clean the plate follow by the toilet paper that she brought from home.

      Is there a feedback form?

The kids are supposed to 'wash' their utensils but it's 'dump in for 10 sec' kind of thing. The feedback form is not for parents but the teachers...I wonder why :scratchhead:

Food given was insufficient and yet not allowed 2nd helpings. Snacks which kids brought are thrown away  If they are not allowed to eat, they can tell kids to keep but how can they throw food away ? That is not right !!!
Agreed with you.

You considering to write to MOE to lodge a \"concerned\" letter?

Ok figure out what is LC . but not the date. Any enlightenment from Funx3?

        Listening Comprehension.
Date is Right on 16 Sept. Should be Fri, Not Mon.

P3-5 oral for EL/CL will be 4/5 Oct

Oral exams from 3-5 Oct. Makeup on 10th Oct.

Will the oral exams be like SA1 whereby the kids stay back after school to take the exams? I find it such a waste of time. The last time, those taking school bus home got to go first so my dd usually had hers early. However, while she was waiting for the school bus to arrive at school, all her other classmates would have completed their turns too by then. I really don't understand this arrangement at all. Why can't they have it during curriculum time like P1/P2?

I think only P2 oral will be during curriculum time as this is explicitly mentioned in the timetable. For P3 to P6, there is no mention, so I presume it is after school as usual.

Quite a few errors in the timetable...wonder who did it.
18 Nov should be a Friday. SA2 Science should not include P2.

              Happy Mama:
              E3:

Welcome, Happy Mama. I felt the whole SA2 exam, starting from Oral to the last paper (Sci) stretches for too long...I guess can't be helped cos of the PSLE Marking week. πŸ˜“

Ya a bit draggy, but that means more time for revision. πŸ˜‰

The 'in-between' used to be worse when son was in P3-4.
The gap between Orals and written papers could be 1 month...so you can imagine I was mentally exhausted when paper II started then. I just couldn't face the books anymore.

Son is in upper primary, so I do welcome the extra 4 days before the written papers and the 3 days break after EL Paper II (24/10) and Maths.
              Stressed :frustrated:

                Hi Parents,

I visited my son at the camp site last night.
The so-called qualified instructors were chanting and singing stupid stuff the whole night :siao: and their broken English made my hair stand on ends.. BTW, the theme for the night was 'Hari Raya' :scratchhead:

Since we were invited to visit our children, I expected some contact time with them...but it was not to be  we were there to sit/stand on benches to see a pathetic camp fire and transported to a scene in the Night Safari, or perhaps watching Alex the lion or Gloria the hippo doing a 'I like to move it move it', remember Madagascar ???

The organizer did not allow the children to talk to the parents. What is this ? Even prisoners are allowed to see their loved ones, right ???

Sorry for all the ranting...I'm so upset and couldn't sleep the whole night.

                Dear Janet

I fully agree with what you post on this camp fire topic. My dh and I visited the camp fire full of enthusiam but to our amazement the organizer or \"trainers\" were EXTREMELY lousy with their singing, speech etc. I believe our kids speak so much better than them. I am not racist but i think the theme is wrong. This is a camp to train the kids to be tougher not \"culturer\" camp. why are they in traditional clothes ?? and yes, we as parents are not allowed to talk to our kids. I sneak and went near to where ds was sitting asking him whether he takes his meal, a trainer standing beside with \"stern, black\" face told him to sit down. I was taken aback and felt offended. Maybe he should have respected us and said politely that no communication is allowed !! A parents nearby also hint to me and said no communications are allowed. I was so disappointed with the whole program when my ds also told me during the very very short conversation that food was \"scarce\" and they felt hungry with no 2nd helping !! My ds came home and mentioned that they had no supper that camp fire night. they were told to bathe and go to sleep !! My dd has the same organizer - Inno Trek 2 years ago mentioned that it was so much better with good trainers and good food. Perhaps PHPPS should review this external organizer again.

My parents went along too. We left after 1 hour...pissed off with the lousy 'rah rah' group who also happened to be the people who looked after the kids. Their spoken English was so poor !!!

Food was insufficient and yet not allowed 2nd helpings.

We were there to see our kids, not the fire...but those people didn't allow any interaction  What's the reason ?

I have e-mailed ds form teacher giving our opinion of this camp. and also hope the VP who was present that evening is aware how badly the camp was organized. :slapshead:
