Does anyone want to swap sessions? We prefer the timing for session 2. Our child is now in Nursery Session 1 at Harding. Please let me know via pm if you are keen. Thanks!

does SJK teach Di Zi Gui ? 弟子规

if No, but if interested, can find out more:-
it's free, taught by volunteers teaching 弟子规.
        http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=25398

弟子规 is good for moral character development in a young child.
        弟子规 originates from Confucius 孔子.
it teaches young kids what is filial piety, respect & honoring your parents.
at the same time learning classical Chinese (文 yen 文)

(ie. rhyming of Chinese character words - 3 by 3.
each set of 3 words has got profund, deep signifcant meaning behind)

there's a short desc on 弟子规:-

Shifting from Montessori approach school teaching to church school, I feel that students from Montessori teaching get more attention than being in bigger group and naturally, students will recieve more in academic. Nevertheless, i do have friends who transfer their child out as they feel that their kid are not learning much in montessori method. So  there’s always pro and cons in all manners. Ultimately, is the teacher that is handling our child tts the most important when our kids are in school and we parents doing our job educating them at home too.I have a neighbor whose already in P3 now graduated from PCF and excel in his studies.  And of course dollar and cents is also a factor. Montessori cost so much more than church school.

Any mummies with kids at rainbow 6? My child is in this class and yesterday was his first day of school and he is loving it!

when you send choose a montessori school for your child, be careful.

the word 'Montessori' is very hot nowadays !
parents must really go and find out:- is the school truly adopting real montessori philosophy or ... ?

Anyone here with kids in Nursery 2 at SJCK this year? My boy is starting Nursery next year, and I would really like to get his books and kindermusik materials secondhand. Do PM me if you are looking to sell off the nursery english/chinese readers and kindermusik materials!

@postpet: if the PNPG list is full for children born in 2010, you can try registering your child for nursery or K1 instead - there might still be vacancies.

I am waitlisting for N1 in 2013. Was told the waitlist for N2 in 2014 is longer than N1. haiz…I waitlisted Leedon as its nearer home but the number of vacancies are really few.

No one know where is harding moving to?

Postpet: no one knows where Harding is moving to, not even the staff. It hasn’t been decided yet because they are still hoping that they can convince LTA to build a road somewhere else (instead of through the middle of the campus which is why at the moment they can’t renew their lease).
