Hi, yes, my PD just told me this yesterday! That at 4 months can feed rice paste already but other solids wait till 6 months! Anyway I will wait until at least 6 months when BB can sit up then feed him. Although PD said if start feeding at 4 mths BB would be more receptive to taking food....
Is it? All my 3 kids started at 6mos, no major prob about accepting solids

Well my toddler’s pd everytime we turn up for injection will ask whether i’ve weaned him off breastmilk. Keeps saying the older he is, the harder it will be to wean him. But my boy’s not showing any sign that he will self-wean yet. It probably will be traumatic if I force him to since feeding also provides a source of comfort to him. Anyway i find that his immunity seems to be stronger with bf and sick less often. So we just ignore the pd.

Not to scare u. bb now 13mos and still wakes up at 4am for comfort feeding. I do not give her the pacifier becos then I will have 2 things to wean, the bfg and the pacifier.

My DD1 suffered from teeth decay and slight buck front teeth when she was 2plus and the pacifier was one of the factors. Lucky her situation was rectified. For DS, he self-wean the pacifier at 1 yr. No prob with his teeth. We are not going to start with bb.

I can only think of 2 options, either u start with bottle feeding with EBM or hang in there. I know u are going back to work and it will be tough, so u have to find a solution that works best for u.

            All the best.

Guess they need our smell to hv sweet dream :rotflmao:

My DS2 slept longer 4-5hrs...so it was consider a breeze bfg during midnite...

Haa...u kw wat...When I had DS1, I'm so persistence not to give him pacifier...so to comfort himself....he sucked his thumb n hv a muslin cloth on hand b4 slp.....he only weaned it off recently...early this yr at age of 5+ when his teeth are dropping off (coz new teeth coming out) ....so I purposely blamed it on this reason...FINALLY! Nightmare right???

So DS2 we gv him pacifier instead, he weaned it off at age of 2....I consider that lucky!

For bb..hopefully as he grows older....he can stretch longer ESP aft 6mths
              when solids food are introduce..

Bb can bottlefeed well but e prob is I still need to wake up to feed him....

              My cousin taught me to

              1) gv him FM for his last feed so as to make him fuller....trying that nw..but I'm lazy as bfg is easier for me...no hassle ...haha
              2) every time he cry, gv him water to drink....haha...can make him feel fuller too...

Both her kids are not on pacifier and slp thru the nite quite well...

With DS1 I never brought him into bed with me, but would nurse him in him room and put him back down in his cot. He had the most problems settling down compared with the younger two (who enjoyed co-sleeping with me). I found it so tiring. We finally gave in when he was about 2, when he could climb out of his bed and into our bed himself. The first time he did that, I didn’t even know, and enjoyed a full 8 hour sleep that night. So, I had learned my lesson and from DS2 onwards, I just bring them into bed with us.

I guess now, I don’t expect my babies to sleep more than 5 or 6 hour stretches. I bring them into bed with me and nurse them while I sleep. I find that this way I get sufficient rest and baby is comforted by my presence. At 8months my baby is not hungry at night. But I believe that just because the sun is down doesn’t mean they don’t need mummy anymore. so when he wakes because he’s not comfortable, or suddenly feels lonely or whatever, I am there for him. He falls back to sleep very quickly and I don’t have to really wake up.

Of course, there are other schools of thought, which do not recommend co-sleeping or nursing at night. I didn’t feel comfortable with these views. But some of my friends swear by these approaches. I think each family needs to find a path which They are most comfortable with, and be consistent with it.

My DS1 does not like the pacifier. In fact, he spat it out when the confinement nanny tried to give him during the first weeks at night. She was shoving the pacifier into his mouth when he cried but he did not like it. When she told me not to worry, he would LOVE it soon, just need to be persistent in giving it to him, I was like WHAT? After about 2 weeks of confinement, I took the night shift myself and BF him whenever he wakes up so no pacifier. In fact with my DS1, I was the pacifier since I held and let him suckle so much…

Now with my DS2, the suckling is not so much since he does not seem to want to BF much, only about 3 hourly. But he would suck his own knuckles until you can hear the sucking sounds. We guess this BB would love the pacifier but no, we are not giving it to him. In fact, I got to force him not to suck his own knuckles sometimes when I BF him! Yes, for DS2, we are feeding him formula milk just before he sleeps so that he will feel full and can sleep longer. Otherwise, he will really wake up quite frequently and this is not what I want since both of us will not get a good night’s sleep!

As for co-sleeping, DS1 slept with us once he grew out of the portable Combi rocking bed/chair and has been there since. I will try to put DS2 into the cot, see how he will take to it then decide!

Hi Nicole, Sadly the meeting rooms are overly booked and checked with HR, although the bank has 2 towers but no nursing rooms. I dont want to do it in washrooms - also they dont have any sockets.
