So far, no school has ever had balloting prior to phase 2B.my hubby is old school boy from ai tong.
does it mean that for Phase 2A2, balloting is not required? i stay pretty far at sengkang.. does it make a difference?
my son born in 2005, reg in 2011..
So it should be quite safe that your son can get into ATS.
Distance only comes into play if there is need for balloting. -

Guess you have to consider is the availability of bus service otr both parents able to fetch from Ai Tong School since you staying in SengKang.
If not you may try Nan Chiau Primary if you are near to it. -

Ya better solve logistics if you can. Same for me where I can try NCPS in Phase 2A(2) but from Bukit Merah to Sengkang is like ..... :!:
In the end, decide try nearby school of my area. -

I thought your choice is simple: Ai Tong by a long mile. Reason - it is a SAP school.
Self-motivated kids are hard to come by these days. My kid is Pri 3 and I still have to constantly remind him to prepare for his spelling and å¬å and stuff. He speaks English at home and reads lots of English story books, and never voluntarily speaks or pick up a Chinese book to read. But he attends a SAP school and his Chinese results are on par with the rest of his subjects. The fact is, SAP schools provide the best foundation for Chinese that you can get for your child, and we all know how important fluency in Chinese will be in our children's future.
Don't pre-judge what your child is capable of doing. Help her prove that she can be as good as any other child in Chinese.
Kcpps Got 281 for last year psle, same as RGPS!!!!!!!!!!! -

Fyi, KCPPS Highest t-score for 2008 was 281, same as RGPS!!!!!!!!!!!!![Moderator's Note: For Balloting History of Bishan schools, click http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/bishan.]
Will be registering my gal for P1 this year. I'll get to register in Phase 2B for Kuo Chuan, through PV and for Ai Tong, may be Phase 2B as well (have joined the clan but only for a year, so not sure of the chance).
All this while, I've been struggling, not sure which of these schools to register for her. Ai Tong is a SAP school and though she speaks Mandarin fairly well, is not interested in writing and reading Chinese, plus she is not the self motivated type, not sure if she could handle the pressure. As for Kuo Chuan, academically, they are probably average only, and over the years, don't think they have good PSLE results.
The registration date is drawing nearer, and I am still very much undecided
Hope someone could give me some advice.
TIA. -

My dd is in P3 at Ai Tong. Don't worry. It's not stressful at all. There is not too much emphasis on Mandarin, as I had previously imagined. Principal addresses the students weekly in English (I imagine if he did it in Mandarin, half of his contents would be lost on the students, lol). He spoke to them on fillial piety (this week), EQ being just as important as IQ and not to get upset if they are not selected for GEP (during the GEP testing week) and etc. My dd is fm a non-Mandarin speaking family and she has managed to stay in Band 1 throughout - the Mandarin exam is not too difficult, according to her tutor.
