hi micollh ~ i think the underwater world is worth a visit… maybe doesn’t look as ‘posh’ as sentosa’s but the collection of marine creatures is pretty good.

we also went for the birdwatching trip by Dev’s adventure, and the guide took us to a variety of habitats (mountain, padi fields, pond, mangrove etc) to see different kinds of birds. very fun ~

sorry mico, i only saw ur enquiry now..

Langkawi's underwater world nt as fascinating as Singapore's Sentosa... kinda boring to me... (if u hv a chance, i think the one in Hongkong's OP is better). Admission is RM$38 for adts & RM$28 for child. (non Malaysians)

for the mangrove tour... we took the 2 hrs cruise @ RM$300... we saw the fish kelong & there we were given a very gd guide who went round explaining the different species they have & alot od demo done... my kids got to fish the fishes... and they went woo & ahh... 😂

then we went eagle feeding as well... and of cos, the bat cave aka Kelawar cave...

not sure about the hotel though... but after my little \"surprise\"... i wld prefer to book the hotel using another website... 😉

as for car rental, yes, u can do so upon arrival at the airport... they hv those car rental countes available... we chose toyota vios @ RM380 for 4 days usage & paid a refundable deposit of RM$50.

minus point is that the petrol tank was empty & we had to fill up the tank ourselves at our own cost at the kiosk.

u can take a look at the different models first before deciding which car u want.. 😄

for tour.... i think it wld be better to rent a car & drive ard on your own... own time, own leisure, own target... :imcool:

js my 2 cents worth.. 😉

We are not taking any family trip in June this year as DS1 has 2 overseas school trip. So DH and I are doing our couple trip to Eastern Europe instead. 🕺 :rahrah: Now, that is when I get guilty about leaving DS2 and DD out.

So I have booked a trip in Sept for the family instead! :imcool: Hehehe...I am really KS and like to plan way ahead. It keeps me going knowing I have trips to look forward to. I have even booked our year end trip to Orlando! :rotflmao:

Now back to my Sept trip. We are going to Langkawi. On recommendations of a friend, I have booked an all inclusive package at the Tanjung Rhu. ie unlimited meals included 24 hours a day, as I understand that the Tanjung Rhu is far from town or other eating places. We will have almost 4 full days. We will be taking silkair and will arrive around 10am on sat and leaving at 8pm on Tue.

My question is whether there are any short half day tours that are recommended and must see in Langkawi. We have not been to Langkawi(unless you count the StarCruise stop at Langkawi where we visted the aquarium and definitely did not enjoy and thought it was a waste of time). There will be 7 of us on this trip, me, DH, DS1(15), DS2(12) , DD(6) and my parents. Any suggestions and recommendations will be appreciated.
