Hi,
Thinking of making a trip to the above, but we have not make any bookings yet, cos we have not decided if we are going F&E or packaged and we thinking of leaving early Nov, 2011. Any suggestions?
It will be our 1st visit to Japan :imconstipated: , so worried that there will be stress :nailbite: , also dont know where to stay or where to go if we take F&E.
Anyone can help, with hotels n where to visit..... :?: :thankyou: -
Osaka - universal studios, aquarium, nijo castle, markets.
Kyoto - temples, temples and more temples. The old palace,
Tokyo - Disneyland, Disney sea, harajuku, shibuya for shopping, euno park,
It is possible to travel on your own as their subway system is very efficient. -
If u have kids and want to bed share, I recommend the b hotels.. iirc they r from the ishin group... they allow bedsharing up to 11yrs old n provides free breakfast. check out the Japan thread.. http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=5508
alot more info ... Dun worry abt language.. just approach and ask in slower English.. they will explain in Japanese, with alot of hand gestures... I didn;t use my language book at all! -
Hi All,
Am interested to know what parents think about travelling to Japan, whether it is safe to travel now. Anyone concern on the radiation?
Am thinking to bring kids (9 & 7 yrs old) to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hokkaido during Nov - Dec 2011 school holiday.
Some friends told me it’s okay, some have concern. So what do you think? -
imagine people like airline pilots and flight attendants have to fly in fly out daily, so it must be okay, as long as don’t go visit the exploded nuclear power plant or don’t go within 50km radius … okay be kiasu, 100km radius of the site …

Hi Verykiasu2010,
I guess I am being very 'kiasi'
Actually I am worried for the kids only. Otherwise, myself don't really care

Was talking to a colleague from Japan that Japan seems to have alot of natural disasters this year.
His response was… actually it is not uncommon. Japan is always prone to lots of natural disaster it’s just that it don’t get wide media coverage. -
I used to bring my ds to Tokyo every year, but this year I chose not to visit Japan. Will go next June. But the air tickets are pretty cheap now!

oh! Should be ok la. Just dun go up north where the disaster took place.
We will be travelling to osaka during the psle marking week. -
I’m planning a mid-Dec trip for my two kids (4 + 9yrs) to Central Honshu later this year. Places of intertest would be Mt Fuji, Osaka, Kyoto and of course Tokyu.
Does anyone know what would be the lowest temperature over there around Dec 15 onwards. Don’t wish to bring too many winter clothing in case they are not needed.
A check reveal the likely temp around that time not dipping to below zero deg so means unlikley to see snow…not so sure whether aunty El Nino is planning any surprise this year. Now understand Typhoon Roke is pounding Tokyo.
