Hi Brenda,

Thanks for sharing. Will let DD know that the marks will be reflected in her report book. Her teacher told her there will be some MCQ and some questions that require a paragraph.

Hi Tinkerbelle,

 Sorry as now I look at the Record Book again and realize in fact there is mark as well as grade which is similar to P4 and P5.
Hi Brenda,
No worries....Thanks for checking.... I will inform DD about it. šŸ˜‰

Cheers,
Leanne

Your girl has good memory...
Is your school slowing down?Ours is still the same, very on English, next, just normal for math.

Hi Brenda,

You are right, carefulness is very impt during the exam.
Looks like your school is doing the direct opposite subject to ours.Very interesting.

Will your dd chinese filter compre passage from past year paper or just text book?Does she impart techniqe or just get the students to copy the answer.DS school did the latter...sigh...

Cheers,

Although DD's sch is not doing much but they tend to focus more on Eng & Science. šŸ˜‚

Is it fixed that for all the PSLE subjects, an A* is 91 and above ?

Or does it fluctuates year to year ?
I'm still puzzled by the stories of kids with 4A* but a t score of only 244.

:scared: if 4A* t-score is 244! :nailbite:

I thought should be more than 250 ?

4A* T-score 244? Really? What a scary thought!!

Hi Tinkerbelle,

I also think so but today the wind change direction again.

DD had done a lot of S&T in class and also brought back another 30 maths problem sum to work out.

Now then we can start to feel the heat!

Hi Leanne

For us, we only start seeing more work today as the past two weeks really not homework after the school.

Finally the teacher is on the ball now!

No A* not fixed at 91 and above. This is the rough guide used by most schools.

A* score fluctuates every year depending on difficulty of PSLE .

Every subject PSLE score is calculated based on T score.

T-score = 50 + 10 x (X-Y)/Z

X = Raw score of student
Y = Average Score of the whole cohort
Z = Standard Deviation

It's your kid's performance relative to other kids, benchmarking using bell curve.

For easy PSLE paper, A* could be higher than 91 eg 93
For difficult PSLE paper, A* could be lower than 91 eg 85
