      Hi

      I think MD is a neat way to solve Q1.

      I’ll give you some pointers.

      The units showing TV sets in warehouse A and B are different. They are not of identical sizes.

      We shall use units for WA and parts for WB,

      WA
      Sold ----- 2 units -----6 units
      Left ----- 1 unit ----- 3 units

      WB
      Sold ----- 2 parts
      Left ----- 3 parts

      3 parts ------ 120 more than 3 units
      Hence, 1 part ------1 unit + 40

      WB ------ 5 parts ----- 5 units + 200

      14 units + 200 ------ 2440
      1 unit ------ 160

      WA ------ 1440
      WB ------ 1000

      Best wishes

            WA

            Sold ----- 2 units
            Left ----- 1 unit

            WB
            Sold ----- 2 parts
            Left ----- 3 parts

            3 parts ------ 120 more than 1 unit
            Hence, 1 part ------1 unit + 40

            WB ------ 5 parts ----- 5 units + 200

            8 units + 200 ------ 2440
            1 unit ------ 280

            WA ------ 840
            WB ------ 1600

            Dear Tianzhu
            3 parts ------ 120 more than 1 unit
            Hence, 1 part ------1 unit + 40 (?)
            Shouldn't it be 1p --> 1/3u +40

            Working backward
            1/3 x 840 =280
            3/5x1600 =960

            960 - 280 not equal =120

            My solution using simultaneous equation
            \t3u + 5p =2440
            \t3p= 120+1u
            \t1u =3p-120

            \t9p – 360 +5p =2440\t\t
            14p = 2800\t\t
            1p=200
            5x200 =1000 (warehouse B)\t
            2440 -1000 = 1440 (warehouse A)
            :oops:

                  Hi, need help for this question in CA2.

                  Q). Danny had $156 more than Esther. After Danny had spent 1/6 of his money and Esther spent 1/2 of her money, Danny had $245 more than Esther. How much money did Danny have at first?

                  Thanks!

                        Hi

                        Is this a P5 question ?? Looks more like a P6 one..

                        The Nth term = N^2 + (N-1)^2

                        So, figure 8 = 8x8 + 7x7 = 113

                        481/2 = 240.5 -- nearest square number is 15^2 and 16^2

                        15 x 15 + 16 x 16 = 225 + 256 = 481

                        So, Figure 16 will have 481 buttons.

                        cheers.
