              My daughter had a similar kind of test for the first pic posted...it is tough to have to read every single hanyu pinyin to do wan2 cheng2 dui4 hua4 :yikes:

                    My DD1 who is in P3 this year is still having HYPY tested in her exams! :shock: But am letting her to read story books with NO HYPY πŸ˜‚

                      There will still be some hanyu pinyin...but much lesser as child moves upwards. It is good to have some hypy so that child can rely on it if he/she doesn't know characters.

                      Parents are more educated than before, so MOE is taking advantage by making parents involved in children's education. :frustrated:
