How to teach Sci from P3 to P6,general discussion
-
Hi All!
Recently I saw a post that consist a qn that her DD failed in PSLE.T comment was lack of key words.I searched the post but couldn’t find it.
Now my son in P3.I think, the correct time to guide him in proper way to do Sci in future.
Dear parents, pls advise me how do you prepare/teach your kids?
I have some assessement books, some qns I found it out of syllubus (may be i am wrong).atutor advised me to do past paper enough. Is past paper only enough or need to do assessment books? How we need to collect information from web like example of gases?
qn: checking the material that which material can pass through the light more
1)Why you choose this material?
ans a: Its more transparent
ans b: It allows more light pass through
Which is correct?
Most of the answers in pastpaper, they follow the qn.I told to my son follow the qn.He said other answer also acceptable.
Pls advise me. Thanks in advance. -
Hi smartmummy,
I’m actually preparing a blog post on some teaching ideas for Science. Perhaps you can look out for it.

Hi smartmummy,Hi Niedino!

Its on KSP forum. You can see the latest post on the home page, Understanding Base Percentage. Its not up yet, as I'm refining some of the details but there are 2 earlier posts on misconceptions and tips on answering questions.
Hope it helps

thank you.i read it.very useful tips.still I couldn’t understand some qns how to answer it.I will ask in P3 sci qns and ans thread.

Both answers should be acceptable, but ANS A should be better, because since the question asks which material allows light to pass through more, you cannot say that you chose the material because it allows light to pass through more, so there should be a keyword or something to describe "allowing light to pass through more" , which can be either translucent, or transparent.

Hi Yewniffler171!
Thanks for the explanation! -
Agree with Yewniffler171.
I will encourage the child to be more detailed in his/her answer.
\"It is a transparent/tranlucent material which allows most/more light to pass through compared to the other materials.\"
In 'choosing', we are making a comparison before we make a choice. Therefore it is good to include in your answer that you've made a comparison and this is the 'best' material out of those given.

Mrs Wong
