My friend was asking if all subjects scored between 50-60/100 with a possible fail subject, any chance of getting into Express? I told her it depends on the total aggregate score and the school's cut off points for the streams, am I right? Please correct me if I am wrong.

My friend also wishes to know where can she find the guide on the points for the streams i.e., how many points to Express, NA and NT.

      Thank you.

COP for Express is 200 or 188, depending on the school. I don't know what the COP for NA and NT is.

Would that be available in the S1 posting guide to be given out by the primary schools after PSLE? At least can view the COP for NT, NA and Express for each sec sch.....

Ok, thank you for all of your suggestions and advises, will tell my friend about it but I think it is too late to do anything now because her child barely pass her subjects most of the time and now, I am also worried for my own since mine also not a high achiever, only slightly better than my friend's. Now I am really worried. :nailbite: :frustrated:

I all info shoould be available in that book, since it is the one given out by MOE(MOE takes care of all kids rt and not just the bright ones). BTW we can also find the info online at http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/SIS_AdvSearch.asp
Just as a random search I looked up Ahmed Ibrahim school. For NA the COP is 179 and for NT the COP is 134. Hope that helps those looking for this kind of info.

PSLE is these few days, so pls do not panic and made the kids worry. You have to give her more confidence now.

Plan to revise major concepts and pointers with her for each subject. Highlight common errors she made or potential pitfalls. Also teach her some strategies to do each paper well. Eg. for MCQ type of question, use elimination technique.

Good luck to your DD and your fren's DD for PSLE.

Agree with pen88. We need to be in supportive mood and not panic overself. My stratey is to be like a paddling swan. Its OK to :frustrated: :stompfeet:  here on KSP, but we should not let it rub on our kids.

You need the mean and SD of the cohort to calculate the T score.

some schools will explain to parents (during the P6 meet) and even demonstrate to students (from top classes?) how it can be calculated. You need to know the mean score of cohort to arrive at individual aggregate. Students' raw scores alone are not enough.

If having to choose between Exp/ NA, i would rather my child opt for NA. That way, the child is placed at top of NA students and higher chance of getting into school of choice (provided the school has NA)

I really wouldnt want scores between 200 to 225 or thereabouts, cos really not much choice schools- thats just my personal opinion.

Then again, i really want the child to make the best of the years in secondary school. The exam at the end of secondary education is more critical than PSLE.

HCL points are only applicable to top 30% of cohort. As to cut off of this top 30%, I'm not sure of the COP.

But if you intend your DD to go to a SAP school, I believe HCL foundation will help her in sec sch years.
