The paper is basically, okay… I took it a few hours ago… It was basically a tough paper 1, unless one knows how to manage their time, 50 minutes was just too short! I did not even have time to check! Lost 7 marks on PAPER 1 ALONE!! =(. Fortunately it was an fairly ok Paper 2

Is question 18 difficult? Heard that paper 1 is harder than paper 2.

Question 18 is very simple. It was only 4 marks. Very weird paper 2, there was only 1! 5 Marks question, that was Question 6, alot of 4 marks question, the 5 marks question was on a graph.. So, not much of a problem , but maybe Question 16, might cause some problems for some students.

The model methoid is a pain. just use ratio and basic algebra and there u hv it. I was in P6 last year and i solved that question in 4 minutes munching on popcorn. Most of my friends cud do it too. dun understand the fuss over the question :roll:

why can't they organise suh tat psle is after children's day... So kids can hv some fun before their exam..

Maybe they worry that the children have too much fun and forget what they have revised! Even if after Children's Day, I doubt that the P6pers can really enjoy loh. Then some parents will complain why can't PSLE be before so Children can really enjoy Children's Day! Really tough man! :evil:

Even reading the thread, i can feel the emotions of the parents and can see myself in their shoes next year....Anyone of you have any high level how to start to prepare our kids for next year? Though all the enrichment classes are going on, just feel that we should start to have a plan....

Based on previous year's PSLE results (last Thur of Nov) and school posting dates (22 Dec - it's a weekend in 2012, so i think perhaps posting will be release 21st). I have DS that will be in P4 next year, so the only period possible would be 1st 2 weeks of Dec...urgh after PSLE results...hope we'll be able to have a happy hols.

Not sure if this is off topic - has anyone thought of DSA for the kids? My DD is in mainstream, do you guys think there's a chance for DSA? Perhaps someone should start a thread in DSA for \"DSA 2012\" :salute:

There R Quite a number of Non-GEP kids applying successfully for DSA this Year whose parents R Active in the Thread. So Mainstream kids still got chance.

There must be an Exceptionally Out-Perform the Majority Skill Set tt your kid excel in, for which the Top Sch R looking for.

Not necessarily confined to Academic - could be in Arts, Dance, Music, Sports, CCA, etc.
But P5 to P6 SA2 Results must be reasonably OK. Best to be of Avg 75 to 90+ to Better your Chance.

I think we should set goal. Start by sitting down with our kids and discuss what he/she wants to accomplish. After setting up the goal, get kid to draw timeline, this you can do with your kid. Do make sure the goal & timeline are realistic and not something out-of-reach. Teach & ensure consistency in whatever plan you have drawn up. Example if plan to revise science for that day must do so. If you give allowance & allow it to be done next day, you will be breaking the cycle and this will cause inconsistency and kid will knows that plan can be alter as and when necessary.

There are a lot of PSLE Maths Q posted in the PSLE 2011 discussion thread and PSLE MATHS 2011 thread. You could compile them now before they get burried in the fast moving pages. You might get more Q than the ones that will be published in the MOE booklet next year. So hurry up :siam:

That’s strange…

Everyone in my class either says it was so-so or easy.
But when i went to ask others in other classes, they said,"Wow! It’s difficult!"
Personally, i felt that maybe they did not know the techiques for the questions and most of the questions needed to use some of the techiques.Mostly, we needed to get use to tough unit questions. I once complained that why unit questions were so tough, but after my mother’s teaching and me doing a lot of practices, unit questions were not that difficult after all!
Now, it was not the time to be depressed over the maths questions, but it is to work even harder. We have other papers coming up!

Just to share something sad in my school. The top scorer(Prelims&SA1) of my school who is in my class was crying today and yesterday. I was heard that he had lost many marks in both papers thus depressed. I finally realised that my maths teacher was right. She said,"Do not push too hard. Otherwise, in the end, the tire will punture."
Indeed, the person pushed too hard and resulted himself crying.
