This is terrific. Is she from NAFA too? I have to agree that she played the piece very gracefully. She is able to play in third position and vibrator at the appropriate time. May I know who is her teacher?

No idea who she is but she is incredible for her musicality at that young age.

I'm not his mother, lah. *haha* Don't have a child of that age. He was in the same music school as my boy last time when he first started at 3yo, that's how I know, that's all. Anyway, this only looks like a practise. They don't take all the graded exams do they? Mainly internal exams, isn't it?

Yup, Nafa doesnot take all the graded exam. Your kid is in Nafa too?

Your girl is in NAFA violin? I was told that this year the students are really amazing. That is even a 6 year old boy know how to vibrato. It seen li9ke the boys are generally doing quite well in this batch.

Yes my girl is in NAFA grade 1 now, she joined the preparatory course last year and survived the exams All the students there worked very hard, some of them even have tuition in other schools. I think they should be doing okay.

Yup, Nafa doesnot take all the graded exam. Your kid is in Nafa too?

No lah. My boy only started learning violin at 8years old. Too old for NAFA already!!! :lol:

from my experience, nafa focus a lot on techniques in the earlier years. this explains why the teachers are strict since a good foundation is important. musicianship will naturally develop over the years. it’s not that difficult there, parents need to play a supportive role and not give their kids stress. the teachers will definately push their students but it is still possible for the kids to enjoy learning.

Although my girl’s with a private teacher and she’s progressing on time but we’ve to skip lessons quite a number of times already as the teacher’s commitment to a primary school is too strong and I thought it might be time for her to change(most likely after her ABRSM exam which is coming, haiz…) 'cos these skipped lessons are discrupting and it will hinder in her progress also I find…

Please kindly share yr opinions if your child is attending lessons with NAFA? Thanks…

My children used to. They are very good, and provide an excellent performance path for the kid, but you have to be selected. Go for the audition, if she gets in, give it a shot. However, if the lessons are too demanding, keep a look out and take her out. The violin classes are not as strict as the piano, and the parents also seem less kiasu.

O, but my kids left NAFA violin in 2004. They might have changed. Hope this helps, though.
