Try \"magic sponge\" from Daiso - $2 only. Just wet the sponge and scrub, works for me. 🙂

I have one of those 'magic sponge' - not from Daiso tho.....tried but think Jiff + scrub seems cleaner, perhaps the dirt on my floor already too deeply ingrained.

Sounds fishy... did he demo to you?

I use the Karcher steamer for grout lines. Easy on the helper's hands and no strong chemicals... environmentally friendly and it works good.
We used to use the Osim brand, but didn't really work... now the Osim also damaged already... by the rough maids... 😂

When i was in my youth, I used to help my mum clean the tile grout. I used a mild acid which you can find in the hardware stall, they will advice you accordingly. Used the toothbrush and dipped into the acid solution and scrub lightly and wipe it off fast with a wet cloth.

If the white cement came off due to wear and tear, simply repair on your own. Buy some white cement powder and mix it with some water to make into a wetter paste and patched the gap. That easy. I used to doo all these for my mum in my primary to secondary school days. I did it again when hub and i did our own reno for our first matrimony house.

As i grow older, i noticed jiff also works the same except that it doesn't last that long. Try it.
I think we used bleach once on our rather new kitchen floor tiles to remove the stubborn stains (due to maid not diligent in cleaning), but the cement in between the tiles ended up \"dissolving\"... had to send for workers to cement back :moneyflies:

Would the acid solution you mentioned result in the same thing if not careful?

I have been using Jiff for the last 3-4 years.....1-2 mths before CNY I'll start scrubbing the whole house by sections. But it's really tiring & time consuming, that's why I was so impressed by the man's product cos' he just wipe, no scrubbing.....how I really wish there are such good products around.
Which Jiff product do you use? Going to get my maids to do it... a price to pay for ignoring my instruction to clean the grout regularly.

              Hi Busymom,
it's called CIF. Think it used to be called GIF cos' the packaging looks similar.
I have tried other brands before, but imo, this seems the most effective also, prefer the scent. But effective also means stronger, so gotta be more cautious less the tiles get damaged.

I will also use the 3M sponge to lightly scrub the surface 1-2 yearly. If your maid is heavy handed, better get the light-duty type.....

Sure i also think its fake may be they have another thing for demo and who knows what they try to sell you as they don't have proper card or address of company. If you really need a tiles and grout cleaning you can check the service of http://groutsolutionsperthwa.com.au/. They provide a very nice cleaning service and its guaranteed as i recently used their service and i am happy with the results.

My previous maids used CIF mixed with detergent and water to scrub the dirt off the grout, worked for living room tiles.

For toilet tiles, the grout kept getting dirty very fast. Noticed that grout was more worn off than living room tiles, so re-grouted them. Bought ready made grout repair from DIY shop, no need to mix. Took me an afternoon ( with many breaks in between ) to do it. It’s been 2 years, so far so good and still clean and white.

Can't remember brand. Bought from self fix DIY shop. It's a purple or purplish pink ( gosh i hope i remembered correctly) tube, cut on one end and squeeze out grout. Tell the salesman it's for grout repair. Not a very big tube, I used 3 tubes for my entire toilet floor. Hope this helps.
