Four prefects stood for the Head Prefect election. Every pupil in the school voted for extactly one of the four prefects. Belinda had twice as many votes as Ada. Susan had 100 more votes than Tina. Tina had hald as many votes as Ada but 60 fewer votes than Belinda. How many pupils voted in the election.

      Hi

      You may use MD.

Draw 2 boxes to show the number of votes for Belinda.
      Ada ------- 1box
      Tina ------ 1 box
      Susan ------ 1 box + 100

Tina had had as many votes as Ada but 60 fewer votes than Belinda.\t
      Hence, 1 unit ------ 60\t

      Number of people who voted ------5 units + 100 ------ 300 + 100 -----400
      \t
      Belinda ------- 120
      Ada ------- 60
      Tina ------- 60
      Susan ------ 160

      Best wishes

                      2 x 220 = 440

                      440 + 128 = 568 cookies (maximum)

The table is 50 by 33.

So to lay the papers to ensure maximum coverage would be to use
the 6 cm to cover the longer side, 50...

Hence it covers up to 48cm with 8 pieces.

The 33cm side covered by 8cm side will need 4 pieces of paper. (covered up to 32cm)

                        No. of pieces of coloured paper required = 8 x 4 = 32
