Thanks, micollh and poppy15. I received Disneyland’s reply after re-sending them an email. I wanted to purchase the Magic Access card to enjoy the discount for hotel stay. But it seems that the discount does not apply to Garden View rooms for Dec. The offer on their website for Room+2day ticket package also does not apply to Garden View.

In the end, I booked with Asiatravel.com and received instant confirmation. Hope the website is reliable.

Has anyone stayed at the Royal Plaza Hotel in Mongkok before? Would appreciate feedback about this hotel. Thanks.

Need advice regarding the in-town check-in service at Kowloon mtr station on the day of departing HK. Does it mean we can check-in our luggage and get our boarding passes at the mtr counter, thereby by-passing the check-in counter at the airport?

Need advice on buying and returning of Octopus cards in ulu hours.

My flight will be landing in HKIA at 5am. If I did not read wrongly, they have machines that allow us to buy the octopus cards (I assume this machines work 24x7). But does anyone know what is the biggest denomination accepted by this machine? Cos got to make sure that we got that kind of small change cos money changer sometimes only give big denominations.

For refund of Octopus card when we leave the country (again, ulu hours), can we do it through the machine? Or must we go it through service counters?

          Pls advise.

hw many of u travelling? if u hv 4 pax, u can buy the grp tkt @ HKD$220 (slightly cheaper than single purchase).

and yes, u can check in ur luggages at the counters ( chk with the staff where is the individual check in counter for each airline... boarding passes will be printed out for u... except they cant tell u ur boarding gate.... got to find out upon arrival at the airport...

              journey takes abt 20-25 mins...

please note there is a minimum time allowance required in order to check in at Kowloon Station ot HK station of the Airport Express train. this is to allow for the half hour train ride as well as crowdedness at immigration clearance at HK airport, plus they need time to load your luggage to airport too.

they will normally tell you that latest you must take the train at which hour/min when you do the check in downtown

if you are too late, they will tell you safer to do check in at airport

depends where is your hotel and what time is your flight. it may be more convenient to check in your flight with the check-in luggage, and continue shopping till time to catch the train to airport

Kowloon station has almost zero shopping while HK station is part of IFC and has plenty of shopping....so it depends whether you are staying in kowloon or hong kong side

alternative is to take the coach service from hotel to airport, slightly cheaper than airport express but get to experience the view of the Tsing Ma Bridge instead of travelling under the bridge by train (no view)

for me, i stayed at Dorsett Seaview (Kowloon); our flight was scheduled to leave HKG @ 2030hrs… so usually check in time is 2 hrs before dep… meaning to chk in @ 1830hrs…

we took the 1700hrs shuttle bus from the hotel (which was late anyway) to kowloon station, did the check in, took the train & arrived at HKIA @ 1815hrs… approx…
