      - Dr Susan Lim (surgeon)
      - Jazreel Low (actress)
      - Rui En (actress)

      her remarks on SCGS:-

      Lina Ng - Geylang Methodist

      under Crescent alumni, we have:-

Diana Ser, Sharon Au - CHIJ St Nicholas
      Jacelyn Tay - Cedar girls
Ng Hui - RGS, HCJC, NTU (Mass comm)

what different type of impression do you think - interviewers, employers and parents have of daughters graduating from following schools:-

      a) CHIJ St Nicholas

      b) MGS

      c) Cedar ?
You missed out one very famous alumnus of Crescent Girls', the Prime Minister's wife, Ho Ching. Thus proving that our daughters need not attend a \"top girls' school\" to become ε₯³εΌΊδΊΊ. πŸ˜‰

Other illustrious alumni are the former Minister Lim Hwee Hua, as well as entrepreneur Nanz Chong-Komo of the One.99 shops fame in the '90s.

As for celebs, Jeanette Aw and Stella Huang Xiangyi were also from Crescent.

My friend n my cousin were not ashamed of their backgrounds. Youth is a short period of time of self discovery n teenagers should fully enjoy the last phase of childhood. Not to feel miserable n belittled.

Good for them then. πŸ˜„ I was belittled too when I was in school. But it did not bother me that I lived in a HDB rental flat and my best friend was chauffered to school from his Katong bungalow. We had many years of friendship and fun together. I guess one just has to find the right friends. Or maybe I was too stupid to understand I was dirt poor. πŸ˜‰

I am from SCGS. I think that SCGS has a very good education and character building system. I have to say that SCGS has helped me grow closer to the sky. SCGS has helped me flourish and blossom.

What is the drop rate for Crescent Girls Sec School students? referring to those who went in Crescent Girls sec school but somewhere didnt do well enough...

How to ascertain such a rate? :scratchhead:

Anyway, I'm a Crescent alumnus. I can't speak for how the situation is now, but my teachers back then were very committed and my principal was far-sighted.

I think that most schools in Singapore have what it takes to help their students develop their potential. If a student doesn't do well, it's usually due to a combination of factors and cannot be blamed on the school.

              Is the principal good? :?

How do you define a good principal? For me, a caring and strict principal is the best.

Hi Amber Shaw, what do you mean by \"grow closer to the sky\" ? Something to do with Astronomy or the school helped you to grow taller ? πŸ˜‰

                        Hi,
                        This is SCGS school song:

Glad That I Live Am I (School song)Lyrics by Lizette Woodworth Reese
(from 'A Little Song Of Life')

Glad that I live am I,
                        That the sky is blue.
                        Glad for the country lanes,
                        And the fall of dew.

                        After the sun the rain,
                        After the rain the sun.
This is the way of life,
                        Till the work be done.

All that we need to do,
                        Be we low or high,
Is to see that we grow,
                        Nearer the sky.
