Choice of school for DS or DD should NOT be based how the school select students during DSA. While I agree that the schools mentioned are all \"good\" in the public's view, I do not think that DSA is a fair basis to determine which is better/best.

True. Just to share.. I know 2 boys who got DSA offer from NUSH. They're not high achievers. Never gotten prizes in Science or Maths. Only got a bronze in NUSH's math olympiad competition. One got in last year and one this year. We're quite surprised for their DSA results but happy for them.

Oh no; siao liao lah ....... Like that hor, my DS will be the third boy following the trend liao. Chin jia lat leh; Cos he has CO via DSA and will join NUSH next year. I hope he will not dilute the academic qualities of NUSH as he only managed a Bronze in his P5 NUSH Math Olympiad; He did not do well in the other 2 Math Olympiad he took part in P5/P6, also got Bronze award for both.

        DHS - smooth sailing.
NUSH - had to go through his most feared 'hurdle' - interview.

Sure diluted DHS academic quality as he did not even smell a bronze. πŸ¦†

                  Hi nightrace,

Yes, I just don't subscribe to there being one 'best' school. What I regard as the best school for my dd may not be the best school for another girl. πŸ™‚

seems like stressful to be in schools like Dunman, RI, NUSH … because like expected to win minimum bronze cert in competition or better, just to keep up with the keen competition, because fellow classmates are all so good.

I do not think that competition (maths or science etc) is a key factor used to decide DSA. Different schools focus on different criteria.

Anyway fast forward to 3rd Jan 2012. PSLE will be in the past. Regardless of which school you are in, everyone in the same school and same stream will start year 1 at the same base point.
