I think I will get that assessment for P2. Yes, Fabian Ng's PSP is super thick. Already bought 'visible thinking' and 'shaping maths'.
For me the visible thinking is a must have one. how do you rate shaping maths for P3? is it good? I found it similar to my pals..

        Hi plum-cake,

I have been buying "shaping maths" every year since son started p1…doing the same for my daughter. However, with the shift towards non-routine questions, I have to get asessment for heuristic & models as well. Based on this year’s experience, I realise I have to get assessment books for tests in may, august and Oct (SA2) for p2.

P5 maths has 2 sections - section A & B cannot use calculator. Section C can use calculator and some questions can be 4 or 5 marks each. Section which doesn’t allow calculator will be tested first. Then after collecting the paper, the other section will start after a break.

          Janet,
The Shaping Maths is it the one by Marshall Cavendish? http://resource.marshallcavendish.com/mcdoc/console/DocumentDetail.aspx?viewType=catalogue&id=47522

          Hi champion/plum-cake,
Yes, this is the book. I find the topics of sufficient depth and 'do-able' if the child is left alone...as for visible thinking, I bought it since it's the latest, no harm trying since it's for p2.

Was looking thru the stack of revision papers given by DD1's T and alas, there are few challenging questions I am like :yikes: 🤷

              Hey champion,
No worries...we are here to share. Just revised son's time-table for this critical month...trying to squeeze in past year exam papers for science, Eng and CL. For math, leaving to tutor as we have completely lost track...especially hubby. Looks like have to outsource daughter's math too when she goes to p3, at the rate this :siao: system continues.

i can’t understand why Pri school studies bcome so complex esp Maths and Science. I recall when I was in Pri Level, it was so much easier. I dun recall i need to do Maths-fraction when I was in Pri 3. And speaking of science, why there are much references in the Science Textbook. Very often, he cant find the answer from the textbook. We have to rely on the website.

I also lost track with Maths too, need to rely on my hubby to teach. Hopefully, dun need to to engage a tutor…

:faint: I am hunting for a good one :frustrated: Its worse than selecting an assesment book.

                  Thanks Janet ,
Then I might go for shaping maths as well. but only the work book...

                  Thanks a lot Janet.

No worries :hi5: The one which Champion posted is the not same. Just checked the title. The assessment is this one actually. http://i53.tinypic.com/j81bhx.jpg\">

I'll be getting the Fan Maths (heuristics & models) too 😉

                        Hi Champion,

Nah…no prob. It’s actually confusing which is which.
The one you posted is the school workbook…4 books A/B, part 1/2.
‘Shaping Math. Math Builder’ is the assessment book.
