That's so true. :rotflmao: But sometimes the innate kiasu cells cannot help but surface. So if you start an extreme kiasu thread, people will come.

      herd mentality? πŸ†’

Also, end of year holiday for pri 4 will be like a \"last fling\" before settling down to serious work stretching all the way to PSLE, with short breaks in between perhaps, instead of long vacation at end of pri 5 which is not recommended.

Guess different strokes for different folks. We actually went for a 2 week holiday at end of P5 and a shorter break in June during PSLE year.

Felt that the break was good for my kids to recharge. The hols were a way to reward them for working so hard throughout the year and the short break in June was a breather from studying.

Aim is not to push our kids so hard that they burn out. Kids (and us parents) were grateful for the break and came back more refreshed. πŸ˜‰

yes, short breaks, in between. for my DS in pri 6, he went for church camp in june and took part in competitions right up to prelims .... (he actually took it as a form of relaxation ...tsk tsk)

I think at every stage of the education journey, a good foundation must be built to ensure that there’s no last minute rush. Or else there will be more and more cracks to fill, which can be very stressful. Yet we still have to balance life with the demands of education so as not to cause additional cracks.

My son will be taking PSLE in 2015. So, shall I start a thread on this now? πŸ¦† :siam:

Not forgetting, my girl will be having her PSLE in 2016. Better remember to start a thread on this, too.

Yup, giving free time to allow the child to pursue his/her own interest outside academic pursuit is also impt. πŸ˜„
