I think funz brought up a good point. When cooking steak, how do you get that char char steak and yet, not so cook inside? Liquid from the steak will ooze out and make the steak, boiled (not char). And if you want it burn, then have to cook until it’s fully cooked, which is not what we want (with fish, you can do, but steak, usually people want it a bit rare right)??

            hi jaslcare,

You can have a look at my happycall faq (http://tinyurl.com/happycallfaq) for the ocher series, the difference and weight is include in the Q2 of it.

Also if you like to have a clearer view of Happycall Ocher, you can go to visit this vendor SGS (http://preview.tinyurl.com/happycallsgs) which give you a clear vision how Happycall Ocher look like (note Ocher comes with only 2 version Deeper & Jumbo and they are heavy)

At Gmarket the only vendors that sell the jumbo ocher are as follows
            1) zussam (http://tinyurl.com/happycallzz)
            2) BestGmall (http://tinyurl.com/hpcbgm)
            3) SGS (http://tinyurl.com/happycallsgs)

Desller only carries Ocher Deeper (http://tinyurl.com/3vjcwu8)

              Dasalo,

You are not the only one that is confused, it take me a while and research to find what is the different, that is why i come out with the faq to help all those interested to happycall pan to have a clearer view before they purchase. If you want to understand the ocher, you can go thru the lengthy forum via this link http://tinyurl.com/ocherfacts.

I think some businessman like to cut off competition of their competitors so they give slogan like beware of imitation, reader like us is confuse. It take me 2 days in making to create the faq and another two days to correct some facts.

BTW, ocher version is really heavy, unless you don't mind the weight. Seriously, the success of happycall product have create competitions. On my search, some double sided pans came close to all the feature happycall pan or ideal double sided flip pan should offers or some features that is better that happycall but happycall features and price still leads.

Now i have received my ecoramic pot and pans (i have join your wagon), i am deciding the fate of my steel pots, vision pots and cornware. My first review is up (http://tinyurl.com/ecoramic) and i have done my first dish (yet to blog) and my steel pots are cleaned and ready for gumtree

Guess what, I have not! Seems like this thread has already tempted a number to buy it though... 😄 😄 My Aunt who was raving about it that made me start the thread, has already cold storaged hers as she finds it too heavy to handle...so :?

                  Angell,
You can borrow from your aunt and try it out, see if you like it before you buy. Actually, I am also worried about the weight especially after adding food inside. But I thought the advantage of a cleaner and less smelly kitchen would outweigh the weight.

Yes, i'm planning to do that 😄

For health concerns, which is the best?

                      1. stainless steel
                      2. standard Happycall
                      3. Happycall Ocher

Is the coating on Ocher the same as the standard Happycall pans?

Does Ocher crack / breakable if accidentally knocked / dropped?

                      Thanks.

                        Hi Sunshine05

If you are talking about health, 3 of them are good. Ocher Best, HappyCall Second and Lastly Stainless Steel. It is not very difficult to figure out, just ponder this question. Claypot, ZiSha, Ceramic Pot or Stainless Steel, Metal Wok, Tefal cooks better food? Chances are the first 3 type and happycall fall into creamic and ocher fall into creamic + clay.

For maintenance. The worse case senario is charred due to salty, sugar, carbonated food, Stainless Steel can was easily but some stain still has to call the guy to scrub, happycall and ocher eliminate the issue. The other pot, claypot, zisha, tefal, non stainless steel pot except for ceramic coated pot, all the result, you and i can predict.

Ocher and Happycall are aluminium based then coated with ceramic and clay (ocher), therefore like tefal, no hard scrubbing. The joints i don’t think is make of metal so if dropped i think the joint will break, not the casing
