I have thought of sending my kid to this OnSponge Maths Jun Hol workshop. Can those parents whose kids have attended this workshop before please share your experience and if your kid has improved after the workshop?

I heard they also have Maths tuition. Can parents with kids attending their tuition please share if it is effective as well? Thanks in advance.
Did you send your kid? Any feedback? Thanks!

DS tried the P5 Dec hols. He felt he could learn strategies directly from book and he didn't need the class.

Onsponge has a very logical way - they group problems based on strategies that can be applied to the problems and teaches the kids to \"recognise\" the problem and apply the \"right\" strategy. My DS is one kind - he has his way of analysing problems and solving them (by any strategy he derive himself). As such, he doesn't find the logical \"boxing\" of problems from Onsponge to his liking.

I think this course will benefit kids who need guidance to recognise the types of problems and apply right strategy to get the solution. I suggest you may want to try the intensive holiday class to see if your kid finds it effective.

                  hi parents

do u think for math tuition, shd go for those that cover section a b c , ie everything, or go for those just on problem sums cos that’s the weakest area?
                  onsponge is just problem sums

Lets wake up and stop stereotype our kids. If you give me a GEPer that solve all questions using model then I really question the GEP selection process.
No leh, my son in P5 GEP this yr and his Math tr taught the class to use algebra to solve most qns and he loves to use algebra - in fact, he told me he is not tt gd at model drawing sometimes.

I wanted to start preparing him for PSLE next yr and gave him A* booklets to try without looking at the egs in the book. I'm actually very impressed and commented to him tt since his tr has taught him well - he need not do all the qns - only the challenging ones for me will do.
