      Thanks for all these contribution. I am having a good laugh. My hubs always says I’m hokkien mui - very chiak (fierce) one when it comes to quarreling. When my kids were young, I used to scold them in Hokkien when they made me very angry - sai ler neng ba (give you 2 tight slaps) - but they don’t understand. When they are older, they just understand such Hokkien terms, though no vulgar ones. My son will come home with some Hokkien vulgarities and ask me what they mean - I usually explain as it is, always end with it’s good to know the meaning but don’t use them and always laughing quietly as he couldn’t even pronounce them correctly.
