yes, it is for working mother and those who need to pay tax. Furthermore, a year we got to pay $170.00 x 12 mth = $2040. The tax rebate is $2040 x 2 (double) = $4080.00. Perosnal income tax rate about 5.5%, so, the actual rebate is $4080 x 5% = $204.00. In this case, the actual payable for FWL = $2040 - $204 = $1836. I thought the fathers also can claim for the relief even if wife is not working? You are actually taxed less, with the relief. Without the relief you will be taxed more. Of course if the gov’t can just forgo everything that would be the best. Most singaporeans are just waiting around for someone else to start something. Even with the 16 maid agencies gotten fine, I bet their biz is still roaring. Afterall now supply is dwindling.

For FWL is only apply for working mother, father not entitled

FWL relief is only available to working mother with taxable income

The objective of the FWL relief is to encourage mothers to return to work force....but it is really miserable ....$4080 x marginal income tax rate
