Hello Everyone


I am a new member to Kiasu Parents.

I have just started going to church recently. Methodist church. I hope that my girl can enter a missionary primary school in 2 years’ time.

Are we qualified for Catholic schools under Phase 2B? or must we shift to near MGS to qualify for Phase 2B? We live in the east. What if I submit my application for PV and not selected to serve?

Hope to get some advice from fellow members. Thank you very much.

If you are a member of the Methodist church, then you will qualify for Methodist schools under Phase 2B. For MGS, it is safer to move within 1 km to get a place under Phase 2B. With your current address in the East, you may not even get a chance to ballot under Phase 2B. MGS does not accept PV. Their PSG is very strong.

I know that shifting all the way to near MGS is unrealistic for my family, moreover, the church I have started attending is in marine parade area. I wonder if a missionary school whether Catholic school or Methodist/Anglican/Presbyterian schools will consider my membership to a Methodist church in Phase 2B. Currently, we are thinking very seriously that we want our daughter to receive her education in a missionary school environment.

Any advice for me on what I can do?

No. Methodist church membership only allows you to apply to Methodist schools under Phase 2B. Not Anglician or Presbyterian schools. These denominations have their own affiliated schools. Ditto for Catholics.

Perhaps you can consider PL MGS, it's located in the East.

are you baptized? only members of church can get a letter from church to apply for a place in school under phase 2b.


if you just attend church but not a member, then no use. assuming you need to register in june 2013, there is not much time left.

but do hope you would continue to attend church regardless of the outcome of your application under phase 2b.

Glad that you have the right thinking which is not to use the church route to abuse the priority.

I too, want DS to attend missionary school. My wish came true as we got in to one through balloting.

Just keep praying and God will have the best plan for your child.

How do I prove to be part of a Church to be considered under phase 2B if I want to register my son in Catholic High?
Would any Catholic Church do or must be specific ones?
Any condos within 1km of CH?
