Price wise, I think Mahkota Hotel is hard to beat. The location is also good as there are many shopping malls and eating places nearby. Places of interest are also nearby. Good for those who don’t drive. Not sure about the condition of the apartments and rooms though.
What other accomodation options are offered by Grassland? -
Bayview Hotel, Equatorial Hotel, Renaissance Hotel and Holiday Inn Melaka
Cos easier if staying above hotels as the bus will send us right there … otherwise we have to plan our own way to other hotels if we use their buses
bit lazy on our part as well … haha -
My guess is Bayview is the next least expensive accomodation. Its location though is not as good as Mahkota or Equatorial. Renaissance is near Bayview. I think price wise, Equatorial and Renaissance are similar.
Equatorial has an even better location than Mahkota. If you can afford it, go for Equatorial. If you want something less pricey, Mahkota may be OK though I am not sure about the condition of the rooms or apartments. It may be old but if they take care of it, its OK. Holiday Inn is next to Mahkota. Not too familiar with it as its quite new. -
Had seen Holiday Inn on the web - looks very good. Mahkota…I went there many years ago and cannot forget - it was that bad. The rooms were basic (now I can’t say) and the tv channels only RTM 1 to 4.
Equatorial will be lovely if budget permits becos it’s very close to the shopping mall. Makhota mall was very dated and old when I last went (years ago).
If there have been any upgrades to Makhota since then, it could be better. But generally, one must not have high expectations of those older establishments. -
Yes take bus from singapore better and safer to go malacca
-
ok … booked at Equatorial … now fingers crossed for good weather

hquek:
I was pleasantly surprised by the upgraded mall. In fact, it is easier to shop there than the newer mall across the rd (too many branch-offs).

Any1 tried the DuckTour in Malacca? Much cheaper there at RM38 per adult. -
Hi all, wanna bring my kids to above mentioned. Anyone been there? Can advise? :thankyou:

I will be going to Malacca on a weekday during the school holiday. Can anyone advise whether Jonker Street night market will be open? I see from some websites that it is opened only on Fri, Sat and Sunday night. If it is not opened on weekday, what and where can we go in Malacca?

Usually I stay in holiday inn Melaka as it is pretty new and clean. Can give it a try.
