i went to NCPS website before and read that currently the building with the dance hall is scheduled to be finished by dec 2011 this year. Starting Jan 2012 next year, they are tearing down the last building (the 3rd block) and will build another multi storey building(about 6 storeys if i remember correctly) on the torn down building site. This is supposed to be finished by end 2012 so i think the single session will start in 2013 cos there is a new school just one street away is operating in 2013 with its first batch of P1 children. So i wonder next year enrollment for NCPS will decrease or not

For single session, usually will start later and end later. Unlike the current timing for AM session since they now have whole day to play with and no need to squeeze all lessons into half-day. With single session, I hope the recess will be slightly longer. Currently, although said is 30 mins, it's actually much shorter due to factors like when teachers release them, queuing for food and some more must fall in at hall 10 mins before end of recess. Imagine the little time left for them to eat, mingle or have some play. Sigh.

timtim, actually, what do single sessions means? start later end later , is that mean the school is off later for prim 1 to 6… e.g start at 730am… go home at 2pm ?cos i still dun understand what single session means

Currently some schools are still operating at partial or double sessions, with some Pri levels in AM and others in PM. Single session means all P1 to P6 will be in the same session, starts in the morning (around 8 or 8.30am) and ends in the afternoon (1.30pm pr 2pm). I am not too sure on details either but this is roughly the idea.

With single session, schools usually need more resources to accommodate all the levels and their needs, such as classrooms for students, space and resources for teachers/students etc. Hence, NCPS is under upgrading now to prepare for single session in 2013. If space is an issue, intake will usually drop. This will be a problem for parents if it is a popular school.

want to ask any mummies call up the lady selling the uniform? do you have any information when they will actually start selling before the orientation? any mummy can update here?

I have called the vendor. I think one of her staff answered the call. She said that they are opened 9 to 4pm mon to fri. I will go down a week prior to orientation day.

so they are even opened daily during school holidays? ya i will be going down one week before or 2 days before the orientation to buy. Dun want to buy early as my girl is still growing and buying later will ensure that i can buy a longer and bigger size

Not daily during school holiday. It'll be according to a schedule to be published soon. Best to buy 1 or 2 weeks before orientation as it's still school term and opens daily from 9am to 4pm.

the last day of the school term will be 18th Nov so i guess i will head down to the school on that day to buy
