      Hi Mummies,

I might have to move my DD from current CC/Preschool. Not happy with the teacher and the management. She is N2 now, and am worried we are late for K1 registration. Lot of them whom I called dont have vacancy for K1 (St Hildas, Bethesda etc) . Any recommendations/advise which one shoud I wait for in this area. Thanks!!

      Hi

You, can try Kids 'n' Kids at Lorong J, Telok Kurau. Hours are 1130am-430pm for K1 classes. I posted why I like it above. For CC, sorry, not so sure.

Thanks. Is this only time available? 11:30-4:30, she has some classes in the afternoon.

Ya, only 1130-430pm. Once in that sch, no need enrichment anymore, they weave it into the program, ie for K1, they write 4-5 lines for English. By K2, it’s a one-page compo. Maths …they teach the modelling technique required in Pri sch, now they count to 100 in K1 and do loads of addition/subtraction around that. Chinese I think can be bucked up, cos 1h a day at this time. So I speak more Mandarin with my gal at home to make up.

                        Hi phtthp

Ah, I see. Yes, they do that.

They have a holistic approach to this: they start on a theme, for eg life-cycle of plants etc. They teach the topic, then bring kids out to see and feel it for themselves, and then back to sch to do projects relating to that topic.

This yr thus far, they had field trips to Botanic Garden, Asian Civilisation Museum, Heritage muesum, Jurong Birdpark etc which were the outings surrounding on the topics they were doing, and this finished up with projects.

This is just 1 facade of what they do, there are many other multi dimension too numerous to chat about in 1 sitting. The recent fun thing they had for K1/K2 were they went to Wild Wild Wet to celebrate Children Day, this was an outing the daddys joined also, to accompany the kids on the rides.
