vks2010, the discussion has tangent off quite far, do you have a relevant topic title for me to move the whole lot of it to a new discussion. My brain is feeling quite dead, cannot think of anything suitable. It should start from the Sheldon's articles.

                from Straits Times:-

Sheldon Tan, 11, scores distinction in O-level Maths & Additional Maths :-
                ================================================================

IF THERE is one subject Sheldon Tan, 11, looks assured of scoring an A* for at the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) this year, it is Mathematics.

He has already bagged distinctions in Mathematics and Additional mathematics at O level.
                .......
Sheldon's mother, Dr Lee Tung Jean, a 35-year-old civil servant who holds a PhD in economics from Oxford University, said her son has been been doing maths puzzles and raiding the bookshops for maths textbooks and assessment books since he was three years old.

His father Gary Tan, 35, a deputy director at a statutory board, said: 'We believe in sufficient rest and want him to be in bed by 9pm every day. But he has no problem doing that. He also has time to play with his brother and sister and play computer games. He is very organised.'

so between age 21 to 23 gone to uni get a degree and get a wife for the father and for the mother, from first degree to Phd in 5 years immediately after A level ... wow

                sorry for the :offtopic:

That's actually normal and not accelerated. If in UK, after graduating with bachelors, can get PhD with just 2 yrs more study in Oxbridge.
parents' age is 35 when the son is 11 y/o

parents' age when son was born : 24

so age of marriage = 23 at the latest

                  age when finished A level = 18, plus 2.5 years NS = 21

so between age 21 to 23 gone to uni get a degree and get a wife for the father and for the mother, from first degree to Phd in 5 years immediately after A level ... wow

                  sorry for the :offtopic:
LOL!

Actually, I remember a conversation between female students who were doing their Masters & PhD. They commented that the women who were pregnant or had just given birth scored much better in their exams. Something like their brain cells had grown along with their body ...

😆 then all women pursuing Masters or Phd should get pregnant, and carry a big tummy into the examination hall. :rotflmao:

just be careful of going into labor pain in the midst of answering exam questions, baby born in the exam hall. 😉

there was a recent Hongkong movie on this ... a woman in labor pain inside exam hall - her water bag burst, she screamed in pain, baby born, ambulance rushed in. Her fellow school mates sitting near her complained her labor pain cries distracted them during exam. Said if she's pregnant, should stay at home give birth, not come and sit for exam to disturb them.
