life is cheap in China, as they say

an injured victim will cost more to the defendant than a dead person, and if there is no crowd around, the driver may just turn around and run over the victim again to ensure victim is dead, because sooner or later the defendant will be caught and is cheaper to compensate for a dead person than an injured / maimed victim

it is revolting to hear this but that is how they view things in China in a lot of places

true, even if they see a dead body lying on the streets, they won’t even battle an eyelid because they are ‘used to’ already…

            Raysusan,

            that is sad indeed.

In Singapore, it is similar to incidents where people get robbed, molested, beaten up, and most passerbys just glanced and not lent a hand. This is the kiasi mentality built over the years. Then, the rather them than me or my family mentality exist even longer - that is the kiasu, also groomed after many years in our country.

So we have the kiasu, the kiasi - hopefully we will not become ruthless to go along with these traits. massive imports can create a different mindset over time - but those who can make a difference do not consider this, as long as they see profits at the end of it.

:yikes: The driver was beastly....Hit and run over the small body and run away.... :torchme:

The initial witnesses were just as beastly but the subsequent ones might have mistaken the child to be playful and lying on the floor.

This clip really spoils my appetite for lunch.

If the society doesn’t improve, the country and the world will be in trouble.
