      Dino mummy:
My understanding was there was best classes in Pri 2 too. That happended last year when my kid was in Pri 2.

2 best classes (3M and 3A2) in Pri 3 where they takes higher mother tongue. Altho not tested, the teacher said it is to expose\"them to higher chinese so as to prepare them if they qualify for Higher chinese in Pri 4.
There was a change in 2010. There is no streaming for all Pri 1, all students move up the same class ie 1A --> 2A.

Does that mean the kids buy the Higher Chinese textbooks ?

Yah. They only have higher chinese textbook, dun have the normal chinese textbook that the rest of the kids have. My kid said the best class uses \"Conquer Maths\" in their daily maths exercise. I am not sure wht it is entirely true but a friend's daughter in another class does not use that book.... Therefore, i tink the \"exposure\"in the best classes is different from the normal classes.

O I C, woah really different exposure. But for the exams, they are the same right?

Do your kids hv to stay back very often for extra lessons?
Do they have a lot of homework as well?

Pardon me for having so many questions. Just curious...don't think my son can make it

How can we prepare them for P3? How often do they require to stay back no. of times per week due to remedial & CCA?

I hope there would some kind of transport provided bring the kids home if they stay back in school especially like that 3pm 4pm. Working parents difficult do this type of logistics arrangement.

It depends on the CCA that your child joins. For CCAs which the school is particularly strong in, the child will have to stay back for at least twice a week for practice. Otherwise, I think the normal CCA only requires the child to stay back once a week.

As for remedial lessons, aiyah, your son won't need. So, you don't need to worry. πŸ˜‰

P3 onwards - They use RADIN MAS to name the class. Better for someone to enlighten you on this , as I get confuse myself too.

Yah, same exams. And no, my kid was not asked to stay for extra lessons. Not sure wht the rest in the class have that but I din hear my kid said so... And yes, they have more homework, i supposed...cos my friend's girl has less homework compared to mine.

I have to agree my kid class has good kids who produce good results. My kid classmates did well for their exams and not just 1 or 2 subjects. They did well for all papers. Sigh..mine din do as well...results are like roller coaster...keeping finger crossed, can stay in the best class next year or the 2nd best oso can. πŸ˜“
