If Vera gives Bala 2 stickers, he will have the same number of stickers as Vera. If Bala gives Vera 2 stickers, Vera will have 5 times as many stickers as Bala. How many stickers does each of them have?
      Hi

Your question is pretty similar to this one.

Weichong and Rama collect stamps. If Rama gives Weichong 15 stamps, he will have the same number of stamps as Weichong. If Weichong gives 15 stamps, he will have 1/2 as many stamps as Rama. How many stamps does each boy have?

Using similar approach as shown by Chamonix, you should be able to solve your question.

This is a question on “double if”. The ‘if” in the statement signifies that the scenario doesn’t actually happen.

If Vera gives Bala 2 stickers, he will have the same number of stickers as Vera. This means Vera has 4 more stickers than Bala.

If Bala gives Vera 2 stickers, Vera will have 5 times as many stickers as Bala.
Vera would have 8 more stickers than Bala.

      4 units ----- 8 stickers
      1 unit ----- 2 stickers.

      Vera ----- 8 stickers
      Bala ----- 4 stickers.

      Best wishes

                Sorry, another question need help:

length of pink ribbon is 48m, yellow ribbon is 60m. Mr Ramah wants to buy an equal length of pink & yellow ribbons. He can only buy the ribbons in full rolls. What is the least number of rolls of pink & yellow ribbon he can buy?

                Thanks

                  Pink ribbon is 48m
                  Yellow ribbon is 60m

The common divider for the 2 ribbons are 2,4,6,12
Hence the max common length is 48x60 = 2880
                  Minimum common length = 2880/12 = 240

                  Hence no of pink rolls = 240/48 = 5
                  and no of yellow rolls = 240/60 = 4

My answer is 8. 4 lines cut through the triangles and 4 lines in between the 2 triangles.
