Order from Dangdang

Hi Tamarind
Yes I picked economy shipping. (I used your instructions on how to order) I got my shipping cost a day after I posted the above. And it came up to about S$21. I can't believe how fast the whole process took and my books are due to arrive in 10-12 days (from today). Yay.
Thx for the great tip.
Hi,
Do they charge GST and service charge?
Is SGD21 include local delivery?
Thanks in advance. -
Hi Kelly2009,
The payment is made in 2 parts. Part 1 is when I 1st ordered my books. They included their service charge ($5 in my case) and GST in that payment. You have to pay min 80% of that total before they will buy the books for you. Part 2 is after they informed me that they have received my books and it is on it’s way to SG and they tell me the remainder due (including shipping). In my case, the shipping portion is about $21. I’m not sure abt the local delivery but I get the impression from their website that it is included in their price.
After reading about how one has to wait nearly forever if you buy direct from DD and all the credit card nightmares, I’m impressed with the speed of purchase using Peeka. I ordered on Thursday night and paid the 80%. Fri I receive emails saying they have received payment and ordered. Sat I receive another email saying the books have reached their China office. Tue I receive emails that it’s on its way to SG and request for Part 2 payment. So far so good, fingers crossed no nightmares ahead for me.

Thanks alot for your info. -
Dear all,
The second payment for peeka includes local delivery. -
I just ordered from DangDang few weeks ago based on Tamarind's recommendations
From this forum, I understand that some mommies actually called Singpost to check if there's any package for them from overseas. Which dept should I call and what info do they need from me? Tracking number from DangDang?
I wanted to check with DangDang but I can't write in Chinese
Somehow, I managed to purchase from them successfully with Google translate.
I tried to email them in English two weeks ago but no response so far. Thought of using google translate to draft a Chinese email for me but in the end it didn't sounds right :slapshead:
Kind of panic now because I'm moving house soon. Can anyone help me, please? :please: -
i usually go to this website http://intmail.183.com.cn/item/trace/itemTraceAction.do to find. Not sure who I can contact in Singpost.
When you find your order in Dangdang, there may be the item tracking number.
btw, I had ever emailed DD customer service in English before. They will usually return with a standard email reply that they are looking into it; and then later send me a reply for my query (usually another scripted email). I have called them also - using calling card not expensive.
fyi, it usually takes about 6-8 weeks (most times more) before it arrives. Not sure when you placed the order and not sure when you are moving house. this will be tricky. Good luck! -
Hi hquek,
Thank you, thank you for assisting!!
I'll try the link you gave me and email them again.
I ordered on 27 Sept. I just want to ensure that the items are on its way. Moving out around mid-Dec.
Just praying hard that I'll receive the books by then :xedfingers:
May I know if it's deliver by Singpost? -
Modernbebe,
dangdang customer service will most likely tell you that there is no way for them to track your parcel or change the address. There was once they gave me a wrong tracking ID and then told me they cannot do anything about it. I have stopped ordering direct from them for many months and also posted warnings in this thread and in my blog. I am using peeka now.
It is best that you try to ask the new owner of your house to call you when the parcel arrive. Another way is to call your credit card bank to dispute the transaction and you will get your money back very quickly, you have up to 60 days from the date of transaction to file the dispute. -

Think and hope should be okay by then. Yes, singpost delivers it.I ordered on 27 Sept. I just want to ensure that the items are on its way. Moving out around mid-Dec.

Sharing my experience. I have been getting zero or wrong tracking numbers from DD recently, but the parcels still arrived safely. So even if you can't find, don't worry. Have trust....and most of all, good luck to you! -
Tamarind, it’s great to see you here! Okay, I placed my order with DangDang before I chance upon this. I actually started to panic after reading some of the comments here about DangDang!! hahaha… I guess I just have to wait and wait and wait… Luckily I just purchased less than SGD50 of books to try out. So, the most is I lost this $50.
hquek, thanks for your reassurance. Guess when you buy online, this is the risk you need to take. I’m thinking if DangDang is listed in the Nasdaq, they won’t out to cheat me on my pathetic SGD50! hahaha!!
