GEP kids and their parents
-
parents' age is 35 when the son is 11 y/o
parents' age when son was born : 24
so age of marriage = 23 at the latest
age when finished A level = 18, plus 2.5 years NS = 21
so between age 21 to 23 gone to uni get a degree and get a wife for the father and for the mother, from first degree to Phd in 5 years immediately after A level ... wow
sorry for the :offtopic:
LOL!
Actually, I remember a conversation between female students who were doing their Masters & PhD. They commented that the women who were pregnant or had just given birth scored much better in their exams. Something like their brain cells had grown along with their body ... -
then all women pursuing Masters or Phd should get pregnant, and carry a big tummy into the examination hall. :rotflmao:
just be careful of going into labor pain in the midst of answering exam questions, baby born in the exam hall.
there was a recent Hongkong movie on this ... a woman in labor pain inside exam hall - her water bag burst, she screamed in pain, baby born, ambulance rushed in. Her fellow school mates sitting near her complained her labor pain cries distracted them during exam. Said if she's pregnant, should stay at home give birth, not come and sit for exam to disturb them. -

I understand that GEP for primary schools start in 1984. How about secondary schools? Start in 1984 too? Heard a friend got selected for GEP after PSLE in 1984. Anybody has recollection of GEP tests after PSLE before/in/after 1984?

Oh when you're pregnant you're like a superwoman, good memory, very fit etc. But after childbirth half your brain cells become non-functioning. At least that's how I felt. :rotflmao:

I had a relative who joined GEP in Secondary school after PSLE. Don't know if he sat for a test or if it was based on PSLE results. -

I remembered the top scorer from my school getting 392 but she wasn't in the special classes in RGS. Hmm, wondering how the selection process was like then.chamonix:

If GEP in secondary schools start in 1984, that would mean the first batch of GEP parents should be 39 years old, and not 37. -
The first batch of GEP parents are 40 this year

So, the selection starts in 1983? heehee, you could be one of them  . Care to share on the selection process back then?
All along, I was wondering what those two special classes in RGS were for. Think I'm starting to get the picture...
