GEP kids and their parents

I understand that GEP for primary schools start in 1984. How about secondary schools? Start in 1984 too? Heard a friend got selected for GEP after PSLE in 1984. Anybody has recollection of GEP tests after PSLE before/in/after 1984?

Oh when you're pregnant you're like a superwoman, good memory, very fit etc. But after childbirth half your brain cells become non-functioning. At least that's how I felt. :rotflmao:
a friend actually did well for the Phd while being pregnant -

I had a relative who joined GEP in Secondary school after PSLE. Don't know if he sat for a test or if it was based on PSLE results. -

I remembered the top scorer from my school getting 392 but she wasn't in the special classes in RGS. Hmm, wondering how the selection process was like then.chamonix:

If GEP in secondary schools start in 1984, that would mean the first batch of GEP parents should be 39 years old, and not 37. -
The first batch of GEP parents are 40 this year

So, the selection starts in 1983? heehee, you could be one of them  . Care to share on the selection process back then?
All along, I was wondering what those two special classes in RGS were for. Think I'm starting to get the picture... -
Crever…chamonix. I went for the selection test but was not selected. This year DD1 is through to second round (P3) and we are managing her expectation lah!
The test was based on PSLE Results and I think it was 3A* and above. like one other poster says, you lose some brain cells after pregnancy and I have 3 blessings so I’ve an excuse…lol! -
No leh, GEP started in 1984. Oh maybe Andaiz you sat for your PSLE in 1983 for the first intake of 1984?

Andaiz:
So 3A* was the minimum requirement. No wonder I don't recall any GEP tests being mentioned even though there were twenty ofus among the Top 10% for PSLE. Think most of us missed the 3A* criteria.Crever.....chamonix. I went for the selection test but was not selected.
