Vevey:
Last yr uniform section was chaotic, luckily I bought earlier. Hard to try on at all, so messy and crowded. The name tags part was ok, check name, take and go. Think better based on last yr since it's first time orientation is only 1 session (class already told in letter), unlike past yrs.Actually no need to worry abt long Q, we bot DS1's during the massive crowded registration days 2yrs ago (they were required to wear uniform w name tag at a later, separate Orientation date that particular yr), but the Q (w benches sitting space) was ok, as the vendor & her many helpers would issue uniforms down the Q to try on 1st, b4 making payment when reached the head of the Q. All done leisurely & comfortably within 30min (we need that much time to try various PE & uniform sizes anyway). She told us they specially bot in more smaller sizes to cater to P1. Her judgement was good, as she insisted that I took a size smaller & \"guaranteed\" it would b able to last DS1 till end of P2. Now I think last till end of P3 also no problem.
It was the name tag Q that was a nightmare then, as all tags were jumbled up.
Had they improved it last yr? -
Then I think i better buy early. Rather be early then to get stresed up later. But do u have any idea when we will roughly received the orientation letter to inform us of the classes etc? One week before the actual orientation?

Hi timtim, thanks for yr info. Btw, where can I obtain the schedule as mentioned in yr above posting?[/quote]I can't really remember if you will receive the schedule by post but I am sure you will get it during orientation. Look out in NCPS website too as it may be published. I remember the schedule was pasted near the school's bookshop before the orientation day.
Not daily during school holiday. It'll be according to a schedule to be published soon. Best to buy 1 or 2 weeks before orientation as it's still school term and opens daily from 9am to 4pm.timtim:

so they are even opened daily during school holidays? ya i will be going down one week before or 2 days before the orientation to buy. Dun want to buy early as my girl is still growing and buying later will ensure that i can buy a longer and bigger size -
There are a few time slots for you to purchase the books/uniforms after the School Orientation, even if you cannot buy the books/uniforms on the Orientation day.
Oh…If I remember correctly, only Cash payment is acceptable. Can someone verify this? -
Hi,
Does anyone know when is the Orientation Day?

For 2010, the orientation letter was dated 8 Nov and the orientation day was 22 Nov (immediately after school holidays started). So you should expect around the same dates. For this yr, there will be parent-teacher meeting session for P1 on 21 Nov, so the orientation should be after 21 Nov.
The class for your kid in 2012 will be stated in the letter and the orientation is half day. It also comes with 10-day Phonics/Reading/Compre and HYPY holiday courses fees and schedule. If you interested, you may sign up and pay on that day with the PSG/Alumni. Some children may receive letters from teachers recommending them to sign up for these courses if they are found to be weak in those areas after the \"assessment\" on orientation day. Cheers! -
Orientation day is 23rd Nov wednesday so i should receive the orientation letter stating the class around first or second week of Nov

I got all DD’s stuff on Orientation Day itself. Morning part was briefing and buying of textbooks. At noon, we had lunch before heading back to get uniform. It was ok. Not messy at all.

i think i better go one week earlier cos if the size that my girl is wearing happen to be oos on the day of the orientation itself, i still have to come back another day to buy and sometimes towards end of the year, might have to wait for quite sometime for them to replenish the stock cos most people might be going for holidays so production might not be as fast for reseller to restock
